Access Direct Connect with Quicken ® or QuickBooks ® Direct Connect gives you quick access to connect directly to your bank accounts at Hancock Whitney Bank. With just a simple click you will be able to upload all of your daily transactions directly into your QuickBooks/Quicken application. Quicken Step 1 Open the Quicken application. Step 2 Open the Quicken application. If you are a new Quicken user, follow the next 3 steps. If you are an existing Quicken user, you can skip to step 6. Step 3 Create Quicken Account.

Access Direct Connect with Quicken® or QuickBooks®

Direct Connect gives you quick access to connect directly to your bank accounts at Hancock Whitney Bank. With just a simple click you will be able to upload all of your daily transactions directly into your QuickBooks/Quicken application.

Quicken

Step 1

Open the Quicken application.

Step 2

Open the Quicken application. If you are a new Quicken user, follow the next 3 steps. If you are an existing Quicken user, you can skip to step 6.

Step 3

Create Quicken Account.

Step 4

Determine if you would like to sync to Mobile and then click the Next button.

Step 5

You will receive the Registration Successful screen.

Step 6

Click on + to add Accounts.

Step 7

Add Account screen will display.

Step 8

Select Checking (Note: On initial setups, even though you just select Checking, it will add all of your Hancock Whitney accounts that have been set up with Direct Connect).

Step 9

Key in “Hancock” for your financial institution and select “Hancock Whitney Bank Treasury” from the result list and click the Next button.

Step 10

Key in the User ID and Password that has been supplied to you by the bank and click the Connect button.

Do not check the “Save this password” box. If you do so, you will have to contact Intuit to reset your password.

Step 11

The system will now retrieve all account data for your accounts that you have set up with Direct Connect.

Step 12

Once the download is completed, the list of accounts downloaded will display. After reviewing, click the Finish button.

Step 13

If you are a new user, a message from Quicken will display. Once you have reviewed the message, click the OK button.

Step 14

You have now successfully added your Hancock Whitney Bank accounts.

Step 15

A list of your accounts will display on the left-hand side of the screen.

How to Upload Transactions to Quicken

Step 1

Click on the dropdown arrow next to and select One Step Update > All Accounts.

Step 2

Key in your Direct Connect password and click the Update Now button.

Note: You can upload transactions either on all accounts, or you can upload accounts separately.

Step 3

Application will process updates.

Step 4

Once update has been completed, you will receive a One Step Update Summary.

Quickbooks

Step 1

Open QuickBooks application.

Step 2

From the Home Page select Banking > Bank Feeds > Set Up Bank Feed for an Account from the toolbar.

Step 3

Click Yes on the Temporarily Close All Windows popup.

Key in “Hancock” for your financial institution and select “Hancock Whitney Bank Treasury” from the result list, and click the Next button.

Step 5

On the first initial account(s) setup, the Enroll screen will appear. If you have received your Direct Connect user ID and password from Hancock Whitney Bank then click Continue.

Step 6

Key in the Customer ID and PIN that has been supplied to you by the bank, and click the Connect button.

Step 7:

Once you have connected to the banks core system the accounts that you requested to be setup for Direct Connect will display. There are two ways you can link your accounts. Once you have linked the accounts to Quicken click Connect.

1: You can link the account to an existed Quickbooks account by selecting the existing QuickBooks account from the dropdown

2: You can create a new Quicken Account by selecting Create New AccountStep 6:

Step 7

Once you have connected to the bank’s core system, the accounts that you requested to be set up for Direct Connect will display. There are two ways you can link your accounts. Once you have linked the accounts to Quicken, click Connect.

If you choose to create a new account then the Add New Account screen will display. After keying in all account information, click the Save & Close button.

Your accounts have been linked successfully and you can now upload daily transactions into QuickBooks.

How to Upload Transactions in QuickBooks

Step 1

From the toolbar go to Banking > Bank Feeds > Bank Feeds Center.

Step 2

The Account Information screen will appear with all of your accounts that are set up with Direct Connect. You will only be able to download the last 90 days of transactions.

Note: Transactions that have been downloaded previously WILL NOT download a second time. Each transaction has a unique financial institution transaction identifier (FITID) and will only download once for the open Quicken file. Transactions can, however, be downloaded again into a different Quicken file.

Step 3

There are 2 different ways to download your transactions.

1: Download transactions one account at a time. Click on account to the left and then click “Download Transactions” button.

2: Download all transactions at once: Click on the refresh accounts icon on the top right of the screen.

Step 4

Key in your Hancock Whitney Direct Connect password that was supplied to you by the bank and click OK.

Step 5

Once all transactions have been downloaded, you will receive an Online Transmission Summary of how many transactions have been downloaded and which account they were downloaded to. After reviewing, click the Close button.

Step 6

Highlight an account and click on the Transaction List button.

Step 7

On the Transactions List page, the user will need to enter Payee, Account and Payment information to accept the transactions into the account register.

Step 8

Once you have entered in your entire transaction information, click on the box in the header of the spreadsheet to select ALL transactions to be moved to the register. If you want to move only a portion of the transactions, you can select the boxes individually.

Step 9

Click on the dropdown arrow for Batch Actions and select Add/Approve. This will move all transactions selected to the register.
