Why “WIDA”?Why “WIDA”?
The WIDA Consortium was originally made up of three states: Wisconsin, Delaware, and Arkansas.
As the Consortium grew, the name was changed to reflect that growth. WIDA now stands for World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment, and as of 2006 includes 15 states:
