Landside accessibility of cruise quays
- Distance to/from city centre 1- 3 km depending on harbour
- Public transport connection to all harbours (mainly tram), connections to/from Helsinki – Vantaa Airport
- Parking space for tour buses (private operators), taxi lanes, vessel service supply lanes, car parking
- Pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, citybikes, accessible public spaces, signage improvements
- Digital accessibility: Helsinki City Open WLAN
- Restrictions for vessels in the South Harbour and Katajanokka Harbour, no restrictions in West Harbour and Hernesaari Harbour
Future plans and challenges regarding the accessibility of cruise ports/terminals
- Vessels over 230 m will be located in Hernesaari Harbour: improvend and concentrated cruise facilities
- Helsinki City Master Plan 2050 may bring challenges to the port: limited harbour area for vessels in South Harbour and Katajanokka; residential areas > operational harbor area, restricted operations due to noise & emissions
