CSIR SPONSORED NATIONAL LEVEL SEMINAR

CSIR sponsored National seminar on “Applications of Nano Technology to Energy, Environment and Bio – Technology” was conducted on 01.07.2011 & 02.07.2011. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr.M. Jayachandran, Deputy Director & Head, Electrochemical Materials Science Division, CECRI, Karaikudi. Experts from CECRI and Madurai Kamaraj University handled the sessions. Faculty members from various colleges and research scholars participated. The seminar offered many ideas about applications of nano technology in various disciplines such as Energy, Environment and Bio-Technology. Technical sessions also include Nano Technology in Medicine and safe utilization of advanced Nano Technology.

One day national workshop on “Queuing models and its applications for Computer and th Communication Engineers” on 25 November 2011 was organized by the Department of Computer Science

and Engineering. The chief guest Dr. Ilango handled the session and many students and faculty from various colleges were profitable of the workshop and learned how the queuing models is been applying for computer and communication engineers.

AICTE SPONSORED NATIONAL CONFERENCE - SITCON 2012

SITCON 2012, AICTE sponsored Sixth National Conference on ”Hi-Tech Trends on Emerging th stComputational Technologies” was conducted on 20 and 21 of February 2012. It is yet another milestone of

the department of Computer Science and Engineering which initiated a spark on the young minds to give an

adequate knowledge about the emerging computational technologies.

The souvenir was released by the chief guest. Mr. Chandu Nair, Strategic Consultant, Angel Investment,

Former President & Co-founder, Scope e-Knowledge Centre, Chennai. The Conference Proceedings was

released by our Founder and chairman Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel. More than 50 papers were presented by the

researchers and P.G. students from various colleges.

MINIPROJECT EXHIBITION 2012

A mini project exhibition was conducted on 17.03.2012. The exhibition was inaugurated by our beloved

Founder & Chariman Mr.S.Mohamed Jaleel and he stopover all the projects to grasp their ideas. Many young

budding minds of our department actively participated in the exhibition and presented their innovative projects.

This exhibition lend a path for team work and team co-ordination.

“Programming Contest” was conducted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering during

17.03.2012 to access the programming skills of the students and one student from each batch is awarded with

EXTENSION PROGRAM

A Computer Training Program on MS Office Packages and Internet Concepts for Revenue Department and

Rural development department staff of Virdhunagar collectrate is jointly organized by the Department of

Information Technology and Applied Sciences in association with CSI Student chapter on Thursday, Friday,

Saturday of every week from 16.02.2012 to 05.04.2012 .

The session was inaugurated by our Principal Dr.A.Senthil Kumar. The study material was given by the guest to

the collectrate staff. The Virdhunagar collectrate staff was elicited about the importance of computers and they

promised to use the computers for their office work to increase their efficiency.

22.12.2011 & 25.01.2012 to 28.01.2012 which has added to the student resume.rdüOracle Certification course was conducted for 3 year CSE students from 3.08.2011 to 25.01.2012

which initiated the students to think of the need of the industry in designing the database and has added to

the student resume.nd üCertificate course on C language was conducted for the 2 year students from 3.01.2012 to 27.01.2012.

This course created an awareness among the student in order to the preparation of the placement. The

students got benefit of it and gained the depth knowledge in C language.rdüInfosys Campus connect Foundation Programme was conducted for 3 students of ECE,EIE, ICE and

EEE students from 12.12.2011 to 23.12.2011.

QUALITY CIRCLE ACTIVITIES

SIT YOUTH EXNORA ECO CLUB INAUGURATION

The quality circle team of CSE – Oasis tied up with the EXNORA and started to do some social activities.

On behalf of the department, SIT Youth Exnora ECO club was inaugurated in the college by Mr.Ramkumar,

Vice president YEI. Our Principal Dr.A.Senthil Kumar delivered the keynote address. Mrs.A.Merline, Dean QC

felicitated the inauguration and the life of a saple was handed over to the Principal Dr.A.Senthil Kumar,

Mrs.A.Merline, Dean QC, QC team members, Mrs.M.Poomani @ Punitha, Felicitator QC-CSE and

Mr.Kumaresan, NSS Officer.

MOTIVATIONAL WORKSHOP

A workshop session was arranged by the QC team of CSE OASIS. The chief guest Mr. Ramkumar, Vice

president of youth EXNORA Madurai handled the workshop on 12.11.2011 on the areas of “Awake to

empower the Society”. The session made the students to think of the society and lend their hands for improving

the society in all aspects.

OZONE DAY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The quality circle team oasis organized the ozone day campaign in campus for creating an awareness about the

deployment in the ozone layer. The QC members along with the target area students actively participated in this

and made all the students of the college to think about the nature and promised to prevent it. More than 3500

students, faculties, staff of the college signed in the banner by promising that they will save the earth.
