SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Important Safety Note: It is strongly recommended that any service, maintenance or repair to be performed by a licensed & authorized technician.

Basic safety precautions should be followed when using commercial refrigeration equipments or any other electrical appliances, such as:

Unplug the equipment from the electrical outlet before cleaning or performing any repairs or maintenance. Always use protective gloves when cleaning the exterior or interior or touching any interior surfaces or components of the equipment. Do not touch the cold surfaces inside the refrigerator cooling compartment with bare damp or wet hands, the skin may stick to the extremely cold surfaces and cause harm or skin injury. Do not allow children to play around the equipment, climb over, stand on or pull the shelves, to avoid any serious injury. Do not store or use gasoline or any other flammable liquids / vapors in the vicinity of this equipment or any other appliances.

UNIT INSTALLATION

Important Installation Note: It is highly recommend to have a licensed refrigeration technician (or a licensed electrician) properly install your Commercial Refrigeration Equipment and use the unit as it is intended for, in a commercial location and for commercial purpose only.

Prior to installation, all the packing materials (such as cardboards, protective foams, plastic covers and tapes) should be removed. Inspect the unit for any concealed damages prior to installation and contact the manufacturer or the authorized dealer in case of any interior or exterior damages. To insure proper operations and performance the unit should be installed on a flat and level floor. Use a leveling device to make sure the unit is level front to back and left to right, including interior floor. Kegerator unit should be placed and installed in a well-ventilated area with at least 2 inches of space between the surrounding walls and the unit exterior walls, to insure proper air circulation. To avoid a decrease in cooling efficiency, the unit should be placed far from any heating source and away from direct sunlight. Under extreme heat conditions, over 100°F (38°C), placing an external blower fan near the unit, for additional air circulation through compressor compartment, is recommended. Install the unit indoor and in a dry (low humidity) place to prevent rust forming on the metal parts and the exterior panels, high humidity also cause damage to electrical components and wiring.

BEER DISPENSING INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE

Electrical Safety and Power Cord Connection:

Important Safety Note: Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the grounding prong from the power cord. For safety this appliance must be properly grounded at all times.

The power cord of the Kegerator unit is equipped with a grounding wire and plugs to standard grounded wall outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard.

If the outlet is a standard 2-prong outlet, it must be replaced with the properly grounded wall outlet. NEVER USE AN ADAPTER PLUG! Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is properly grounded. Check the outlet voltage with a voltmeter. If the results are anything less than 100% of the required voltage for operation, it must be corrected immediately. WARNING: Compressor warranties are voided if the compressor fails due to low voltage or power surge. DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD. Using any kind of extension cord to connect the unit will void the warranty. The unit must be close enough to a wall outlet, so use of an extension cord not needed. The unit should always be plugged into its own dedicated circuit with a voltage rating that matches the compressor rating. This provides the best performance and also prevents overheating power cord which could become a fire hazard from overheated wires. Never unplug the unit by pulling the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull it out straight from the outlet. Repair or replace immediately all power cords that have become fried, melted or otherwise damaged. Do not use a power cord that has cracks or abrasion damage along its length or at either of its ends. When removing the unit away from the wall be careful not to run over or damage the power cord.

NOTE: Wiring Diagram label is placed on the interior side wall, additional copies will be provided by the manufacturer upon request.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

Important Operation Note: Anytime the unit is unplugged or the power is turned off, allow at least five (5) minutes before re-plugging or turning the power on.

Before using or placing any products inside the unit, it is recommenced to let it operate for 1 to 2 days with the unit doors closed, to insure the temperature reaches and stays within the set points. This will also insure the unit is operating properly and there are no shipping damages or issues with the cooling system. As a reminder, the manufacturer warranty does not cover product loss. Be careful NOT to block the interior fans (air ducts) located on the ceiling or the air-flow through interior back wall. Blocking the air flow may cause decrease in performance & uneven temperature through the unit interior. For the best performance, maintain at least 4 inches of clearance between the contents and the interior air duct / fans. Use the shelves that comes with the unit and fit in correctly. Do not leave the unit door open for a long period of time, close the door immediately after each use, for optimum operation.

Interior Light Switch: The light switch is located on the left side of side grill.

Digital Temperature controller: The controller is programmed by the factory and set to the recommended settings for the Kegerator unit and no adjustments are needed. Default lowest point temperature is set at “34" degrees with“7” degrees of temperature differentials. Changing the factory settings could lead to unit malfunction and performance problems. Contact the manufacturer or authorized dealer if there is an issue with the temperature and the unit is not performing properly.

STAINLESS STEEL CARE AND CLEANING

Important Cleaning Note: Do not use any steel wool, abrasive or chlorine based products to clean stainless steel surfaces

Stainless Steel Enemies: There are three basic items that can break down the passivity layer of stainless steel and allow corrosion to occur.

I. Scratches from wire brushes, metal scrapers and steel pads are just a few examples of items that can be abrasive to stainless steel’s surface. II. Deposits left on stainless steel can leave spots. Hard water can leave spots. Hard water that is heated can leave deposits if left to sit for too long. These deposits can cause the passive layer to break down and rust stainless steel. All deposits left from food prep or service should be removed as quickly as possible.

III. Chlorides are present in table salt, food and water. Household and industrial cleaners are the worst type of chlorides to use.

Recommended cleaners for stainless steel: - Apply soap, ammonia or liquid detergent to a soft cloth or sponge first,

then rubbed on the stainless steel surface gently for routine cleaning. - Arcal 20, Loc-O-Nu Ecoshine provide a barrier film for fingerprints and

smears. - Cameo,Talc,Zud First lmpression is for stubborn stains and discoloration. - Rub in direction of polish lines. - Easy-off and De-Grease It oven aid are excellent for removals on all

finishes for grease-fatty acides, blood and burnt-on foods. - Any good commercial detergent can be applied with a sponge or soft

cloth to remove grease and oil. - Benefit,Super Sheen,Sheila Shine are good for restoration/passivation.

Eight Steps that can help prevent rust on stainless steel:

1. Use the correct cleaning tools. Use non-abrasive tools when cleaning your stainless steel products. The stainless steel’s passive layer will not be harmed by soft cloths and plastic scouring pads.

2. Clean along the polish lines. Polish lines or grain are visible on some stainless steel. Always scrub parallel to visible lines. Use a plastic scouring pad or soft cloth when grain is not visible.

3. Use alkaline, alkaline chlorinated or non-chloride containing cleaners. While many traditional cleaners are loaded with chlorides, the industry is providing an ever increasing choice of non-chloride cleaners. If unsure of chloride content contact the cleaner supplier. If present cleaner contains chlorides, ask for an alternative. Avoid cleaners containing quaternary salts as they can attack stainless steel causing pitting and rusting.

4. Water treatment. To reduce deposits, use soft water whenever possible. Installation of certain filters can be an advantage. Contact a treatment specialist about proper water treatment.

5. Maintain cleanliness of food equipment. Use cleaners at recommended strength(alkaline, alkaline chlorinated or non-chloride). Avoid buildup of hard stains by cleaning frequently

6. When using chlorinated cleaners you must rinse and wipe dry immediately. It is better to wipe standing cleaning agents and water as soon as possible. All stainless steel equipment to air dry. Oxygen helps maintain the passivity film on stainless steel.

7. Hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid) should never be used on stainless steel.

8. Regularly restore/passivate stainless steel.

MAINTENANCE AND CONDENSER CLEANING

Note: Condensers accumulate dirt and dust and cleaning it every 30 days is recommended. Dirty condensers result in compressor failure, product loss, and lost sales — which are not covered by warranty.

Air is pulled through the condenser continuously along with dust, lint, grease, etc. If you keep the condenser clean you will minimize your service expense and lower your electrical costs. The condenser requires scheduled cleaning every days or as needed. A dirty condenser can result in non warranted part and compressor failures and product loss. Proper cleaning involves removing debris from the condenser by using a soft brush or vacuuming the condenser with a shop vacuum or using CO2, nitrogen or pressurized air. If you cannot remove the debris adequately. please call your refrigeration service provider.

CLEANING THE CONDENSER COIL Required Tools

• Phillips screwdriver • Stiff bristle brush • Adjustable wrench

When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should be followed.

• Disconnect power to unit. • Remove the left side grill panel by removing all screws. • Remove bolts anchoring compressor assembly board to frame rails and

carefully slide out the board, the tube connections are flexible. • Clean out accumulated dirt from condenser coil with a stiff bristle brush. • Lift the cover above fan by removing plastic clips and carefully clean

condenser coil and fins. • Clean with a commercial condenser coil cleaner, available from any

kitchen equipment retailer. Brush the condenser fins from top to bottom, (not side to side). If necessary, clean the fan blades and motor with a soft cloth. If use water to wash the fan blades, cover the fan motor to prevent water damage

• After brushing condenser & fan blades vacuum dirt from coil and interior floor.

• Replace the fan cover, carefully slide compressor assembly back into position and replace bolts.

• Reinstall the side grill panel onto unit with appropriate fasteners and clips. Tighten all screws.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Before requesting any service on your unit, please check the following points. Please note that this guide serves only as a reference for solutions to common problems.

SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION

Compressor not running.

Fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped. Power cord unplugged. Thermostat set too high.

Cabinet in defrost cycle.

Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker. Plug in power cord. Set thermostat to lower temperature. Wait for defrost cycle to finish.

Condensing unit runs for long periods of time.

Excessive amount of warn product placed in cabinet. Prolonged door opening or door ajar.

Door gasket(s) not sealing properly.

Dirty condenser coil. Evaporator coil iced over.

Allow adequate time for product to cool down. Ensure doors are closed when not in use. Avoid opening doors for long periods of time. Ensure gaskets are snapped in completely. Remove gasket and wash with soap and water. Check condition of gasket and replace if necessary. Clean the condenser coil. Unplug unit and allow coil to defrost. Make sure thermostat is not set too cold. Ensure that door gasket(s) are sealing properly.

Cabinet temperature is too warm.

Thermostat set too warm.Set thermostat to lower temperature. Re-arrange product to allow for proper air flow. Make sure there is at least four inches of clearance from evaporator. Allow adequate time for product to cool down. Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker. Clean the condenser coil. Ensure doors are closed when not in use. Avoid opening doors for long periods of time. *see above

Blocking air flow.

Excessive amount of warm product placed in cabinet. Fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped. Dirty condenser coil. Prolonged door opening or door ajar.

*Evaporator coil is ice covered.

Cabinet is noisy.

Loose part(s).

Tubing vibration.

Locate and tighten loose part(s). Ensure tubing is free from contact with other tubing or components.
