Recently, ACHE studied and ranked the top concerns facing hospitals. As in previous years, financial difficulties were the number one concern among hospital CEOs. Patient safety and quality, government mandates, personnel shortages, and patient satisfaction rounded out the top five. Surveys were distributed to gather data from 1,054 community hospital CEOs, 350 of whom responded.
