Co-curricular Activities As far as Co-curricular activities are concerned through out the year

school has been conducting different competitions for the physical and mental

development of the children. Events like Dance, Group Song, Shlokocharan,

Poetry, Declamation, Salad Making & Table Decoration, Mehandi competition,

Calligraphy, Poster Making, appearance and layout had been conducted time to

time. Every Saturday is observed as activity day. A very positive and over

whelming response was seen among the students.

Six students participated in Poster Making competition held at Sonepat on

the occasion of RAJIV GANDHI URJA DIVAS on 20th August, 2011. The event

was organized by Renewable Energy Department, Haryana.

ADSAT (Analysis and Development of Scientific Aptitude and Talent) test

was conducted in the school on 8th September, 2011. 133 students appeared for

the test. In which 15 students won prizes and were awarded on 5th February,

2012. Out of them 12 students got Gold Medals, 02 students School Toper

Trophy and 01 student won cash prize of Rs. 500/-.

In an essay writing competition on the topic Science and its Importance

was organized by SCERT, Gurgoan in Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Gohana at

Block Level Ms. Archana Class XII got 3rd position. She was short listed to

participate at the District level where she got 2nd position.

An Inter school Quiz and Painting competition was organized by FOREST

DEPARTMENT in Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Gohana on 26th September, 2011.

In which Ms. Gunjan D/o Sh. Rakesh Nehra, Ms. Rachna D/o Sh. Shamsher

Singh and Ms. Sapna D/o Sh. Rambir Singh stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd position

respectively.

238 students participated in Avantika Essay writing, Coloring and

Greeting Card Making Competition was conducted in the school. Three students

Ms. Reena (VI-A), Ms. Neha (VIII-B) and Ms. Dipti (IX-D) got Silver Jubilee prizes.

Six students got Gold Medals in Coloring competition and five students

got Gold Medals in Essay Competition.

Five students got Silver Medals in Coloring competition. Three students

got Silver Medals in Essay competition and one student got Silver Medal in

Greeting Card competition.

Six students got Bronze Medals in Coloring competition. Two students

got Bronze Medals in Greeting Card Making competition and one student got

Bronze Medal in Essay Writing competition.

A speech competition was organized by NSS and Red Ribbon Club,

Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan (Sonepat) on 21st

January, 2012 on HIV AIDS. Ms. Preeti Rajan (XII-E) Ms. Nikita (XII-F) got 1st

and 2nd position respectively in University.

To spread awareness about Energy Conservation an essay writing

competition, Poster Making and Speech Competition was organized by IREP,

Sonepat at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Khanpur Kalan (Sonepat) on 13th February,

2012. 11 of our student participated; Ms. Sheetal (X) got 1st position in speech.

Ms. Nivedita (XI-F) got 3rd position in Poster Making and Ms. Sapna (XII-F) got

3rd position in Essay Writing Competition.

Gramin Partibha Vikas Samiti and Sahil Viklang Sahayatarth Samiti, Delhi

conducted a Shaikshnik Partiyogita 2012 on 26th January, 2012 to elevate the

talent of rural students of Sonepat, Gohana, Kathura and Safidon Blocks.

Approximately 100 students participated and thirteen students got prizes in

different categories in Gohana Block.

70th BALIDAN DIWAS OF BHAGAT PHOOL SINGH JI and 98th BIRTH

ANNIVERSARY OF PADAM SHRI SUBHASHINI DEVI was celebrated in the

University with great reverence and gratitude on 14th August, 2012. Students of

Kanya Gurukul Senior Secondary School participated and performed

outstandingly.

66th Independence Day was celebrated in the University with hoisting of

flags by Chief Guest Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal. School

students participated in March Past with Band and cultural activities.

N.S.S.

School has three Units of NSS with 100 students per Units. During winter

break from 20th December to 26th December, 2011 a seven days camp was

organized by the volunteers. In activities like Speech, Card making, Poster

making and Mehandi competitions the performance of the volunteers were

enthusiastic.

The objective of the camp was “To educate the villagers about the cleanliness and adult education”. The importance of tree plantation was

expressed by performing a skit. On 25th December, Christmas Day was

celebrated with full fervor. The camp was concluded by the speech and

distribution of prizes to the winners by the school Principal Mrs. Sumita.

N.S.S. students gave outstanding performance in Cultural presentation as

well as in March past on the occasion of Republic and Independence Day

celebration at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan

(Sonepat).

Scout and Guide

A seven day’s training camp was attended by the group of students at

Tara Devi in Himachal Pardesh.

Sports Achievements: -

Volleyball – A volleyball team of 12 students U-17 participated in District

level sports competition held at Sonepat on 2nd August, 2012. Team

scored 3rd position. Out of twelve three students Ms. Nancy, Ms. Kiran

and Ms. Amroziya were selected for State Level championship. U-19

team scored 2nd position out of which four students Ms. Pinki, Ms. Nisha,

Ms. Ritu and Ms. Khusbhoo were selected for State level championship.

Kabbadi - U-17 Kabbadi team participated in school District Level sports

chamipship held at Sonepat on 6th August, 2012. U-19 team scored 3rd

position in the same championship. Two students Ms. Jyoti and Ms. Ajay

were selected for State Level Championship.

Badminton - 12 students U-14, U-17 and U-19 participated at District

Level Sports championship on 19th July, 2012.

Yoga - 12 students U-14, U-17 and U-19 participated at District Level

Sports championship on 20th July, 2012.

Judo - A team of 23 students of this school participated in District Level

Schools Sports competition Judo held at Partap Senior Secondary School,

Kharkhoda on 15.07.2012. The performance of the students of this school

was highly commendable during the subject event. Out of 23 students, 15

students got 1st position and 8 students got 2nd position.

Five students participated at State level U-17 in which Ms. Suman

D/o Sh. Devender Singh scored 3rd position and one bronzed medal in the

tournament held at Sirsa. Ms. Tanya D/o Sh. Harveer Singh scored 2nd

position and one Silver Medal at Sirsa. Ms. Ritu D/o Sh. Dharambir Singh

scored 3rd position and one Bronze Medal in the same tournament.
