Opening exhibition of‘CONSTRUCTIBLE ATMOSPHERES // ‘ERAIKITZEKO ATMOSFERAK’

The gallery Víctor Lope Arte Contemporáneo is glad to announce the opening exhibition of “Constructi-ble Atmospheres”, by the Basque artist Iñigo Arregi. The event will take place in the gallery on June 29th at 7 p.m. The artist will present at the occasion.
Iñigo Arregi shows in “Constructible Atmospheres” the evolution of his art throughout a variety of steel sculptures and reliefs. His work has been transforming with the passage of time —the sculptor has been working in the arts for forty years now— and it would be hard to sum up his path in a few words.
Nonetheless, as the art critic Juan Antonio Garcia Marcos says, this exhibition shows a breaking point which marks the before and after of a long-term path. A tridimensional puzzle, where the blueprint joins in a natural way without investigating the volume. His work is meticulous, analyzing from the development of the experimental mock-up, which we could name the real blueprint of the final work. It’s a constant re-search and a conscientious one, in which he highlights the never-changing search for shadows, the ones we can find between hollows and spaces that each one of the sculptures project upon themselves.
Born in Arrasate-Mondragón, Iñigo Arregi started his artistic career in 1973. Since then he has exhibited in serveral art galleries around Spain, either solo or collective shows, in cities like Madrid, Bilbao or Bar-celona. Internationally, Arregi has participated in prestigious art fairs such as Art Bodensee (Austria), Art Karlsruhe (Germany) and Contemporary Istanbul (Turkey), always in collaboration with the gallery Víctor Lope.
