Plug-in options
Used to provide additional connections between the drive and other devices
– Fieldbus
– Pulse encoder
– Extended I/O
 Software-dependent
Plug-in options are used when additional connections like fieldbus, pulse encoder or extended I/O are needed between the drive and other devices.
The number of the available plug-in options in the ACS800 series is software-dependent.

Mounting
Two I/O options can be mounted onto a drive
Snap on to the skeleton covering the RMIO-01 or to the AIMA extension board
Node numbering 0…15 via switch
Board grounding to chassis with locking screws
Terminals for the outside connections
Indication LEDs in the option module
Connection via parallel bus connector to the RMIO or to the AIMA extension board
Two I/O option modules can be mounted onto a drive.
The mounting procedure is the same for all ACS800 drives. The modules are snapped on to the skeleton covering the RMIO-01 or AIMA board.
Each module type has different LED and terminal structures.

Channel 0 for Fieldbus adapters
RDCO channels
Channel 1 for NDIO, NAIO, NTAC
Channel 2 for NTAC/ Master Follower
Channel 3 for PC Tools
Four fiber optic channels
Four fiber optic DDCS link channels are available in the optional RDCO module providing interfaces for PC tools, pulse encoders, master/followers, and I/O and Fieldbus adapters.
The N-type options which in ACS600 used, require in the ACS 800 the option board RDCO which is connected to the Slot 3.The RDCO option boards is fully compatible with the previous generation option modules: NDIO, NAIO, NTAC, NPBA, NMBA....
Three module versions are available RDCO-01, RDCO-02, RDCO-03.

AIMA-01 I/O module adapter For connecting I/O extension modules
– 3 slots for RDIO, RAIO and RTAC
– Connected to I/O channel CH1 of RMIO
When more than the two standard option slots are needed for an application, the AIMA-01 I/O module adapter can be used as an extension unit.
It includes three I/O slots for digital and analogue I/O extension modules (RDIO, RAIO) and pulse encoders (RTAC). The AIMA is connected to channel 1 (CH1) of the RMIO board.
