    and minimize operational risks. TheInterACT system provides access todrilling and measurement informa-tion when and where it is needed.

    Well information transfer specifica-tions (WITS) or well informationtransfer standard markup language(WITSML) data from any source areloaded through a secure link to a database on a server. Users view thedata in numeric display dashboards,

    configurable log displays, and tool-face and well trajectory presentations.The InterACT system provides thecapability to remotely use images asthey are created and a powerful plat-form to optimize drilling operationsby bringing the data to the expertsand decision makers.

    Using the InterACT system inthe Schlumberger drilling iCenter*secure networked collaborative envi-ronment enables around-the-clocksurveillance of drilling operationsand facilitates real-time decisionmaking. Schlumberger DCS per-sonnel will design, implement, andmanage a real-time drilling iCenter installation for any chosen location .Completely scalable and very flexi-ble, the iCenter environment willbe designed to meet the uniquerequirements of the operation. DCStechnical experts will run the iCenter installation and work closely withthe operator to produce the bestresults.

    predicted design. The result is a bet-ter decision-making process that canhelp ensure the best possible resultsfor the well.

    Well testing

    Secure monitoring of well testingoperations via the Internet has a significant impact on planning andexecuting well testing operations.Regardless of location, the InterACTsystem allows offsite expertise, notnormally available at the wellsite, tobe focused on a well test, so informeddecisions can be made and imple-mented in a timely manner. With allthe pertinent well testing data andreports available, offsite experts canmodify and optimize well test pro-grams, while they are being run, togreatly improve results.

    At anytime during or after the test,data can be downloaded andimported into exploration and pro-duction software tools for further analysis.     A: Yes, the InterACT system uses industry standard protocols and is a very flexible system. We recognizethat a number of service companies construct wells.However, it is often desirable to go to only one Weblocation to monitor operations and access data.

    Q: Which WITMSL API can the InterACT system handle?

    A: The InterACT system can handle both WITSML API version 1.1 and 1.2.

    Q: Is the InterACT system secure?

    A: The InterACT system follows stringent Schlumberger security policies. With regular internal audits, theInterACT system ensures data security.

    Q: Who provides connectivity?

    A: The InterACT system can use an existing public or client network. However when needed, Schlumberger can provide connectivity to the wellsite.

    Q: Are there certain high-volume data well operations from

    A: Typically the data will remain on the server nolonger than 90 days unless the client specificallyrequests archiving services.

    Q: What happens when a file upload is suspended for several hours (e.g., a lost link)?

    A: An upload that has not been active for more than6 hr is automatically closed.

    Q: How does the InterACT system adapt from well construction to production and process?

    A: In well construction, the timing of activities andevents are generally known, and data transmissionrequirements can be high for relatively short periods.In production, additional features to the Schlumberger
