The company has developed a new range of freeze-dried pro-ducts. Similar to dehydration, the freeze-drying process consists of eliminating any trace of water in food to make the product lighter. The principle involves subjecting the food to rapid free-zing at -25 Celsius while vacuum-sealed, with the water thus tur-ning from ice to vapor. The original taste is better conserved and its nutritional value remains nearly intact. Major investments of $17M on the mountain itself: a high-speed, detachable quad chairlift will replace the Lowell-Thomas lift, five new glades and one new trail are added, the addition of 90 acres of skiable terrain on the North and Edge hillsides, bringing the total number of trails to 102, increase in the snow- making capacity, enlargement and renovation of the main chalet at the summit and an overhaul of the chalet on the Versant Nord. New in the pedestrian village: renovation of the Tour des Voyageurs, an investment of $3.7M. What’s more, don’t miss Elevation, a new LGBTQ event celebrating diversity. More details to come.

The park was granted a financial contribution of $851,400 from Tourisme Québec to carry out its second phase of development, with work to begin in fall 2018. This funding is an important step in the realization of a development project valued at $3.4M, once terminated. When finished, the development of the Windi-go sector will include, among other things, setting up of a recep-tion center, sites for in-nature and camping-style accommo-dation, as well as the development of activity trails for nature observation or adrenalin around the falls, including slides into them. Visitors will be able to enjoy nautical activities, a fitness activity course or do some hiking. It will also be possible to practice water-skiing with an electric bi-pulley system. The work should be finished in 2020.
