SHARED NEWS & ACTIVITIES Weekly Reflection—Even the disciples, who knew Jesus personally, had doubts and fears. They did not know what to do. They had failed him in so many ways. Still, Jesus did not abandon them. He came to them. He did not ask what had happened to them, where they had been, etc. His first words were, “Peace be with you.” And then he entrusted them to carry on his mission! He knew their weaknesses and so he also gave the Holy Spirit to help and guide them in their mission. Jesus extends his peace to us everyday and has given us the Spirit to help us. Each day give thanks for these gifts and pray for the grace to receive and use them well.

Blest are they who have not seen and have believed.

ST. JOSEPH PARISH Cherry Tree Collection—It’s spring! Time to grow

St. Joe’s Cherry Tree! Coordinators are beginning to collect and number prizes. Do you have items to donate? Perhaps you want to do some re-gifting or have been bargain shopping. We

use a wide variety of prizes. Suggested categories in-clude: tools and outdoor items, kitchen and housewares, stationary and school supplies, paper products, holiday dec-orations, personal items and jewelry, toys and games, and seasonal decorations, etc. Contact Tim & Nancy Kaczmarek at 715-341-6947 or John & Lynn Meyer at 715-341-7104 for more information. Basket Raffle—Now is the time to “Spring” into action! Help us put together some baskets to be raffled off at the Friday, May 10 “Kick-Off to Picnic Season” Fish Fry along with the new two-day picnic weekend (Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.) Putting together a basket is easy. Come up with a theme, purchase some items that fit the theme and place them in some type of “basket.” Gift cards to local restaurants and grocery stores have proven to be very popular “fillers.” Why not help the church in more ways than one by purchas-ing gift cards? They are sold after most weekend Masses and you can include them in your gift basket donation. If you are interested in helping, please con-tact Kris Hansen at 715-340-7751 or Karen Danczyk at 715-630-8219, Basket Raffle Chairs. Silent Auction is here again. We are accepting new

items, as well as antiques for “Grannies’ At-tic.” A designated collection box is in the Family Center. Please include your name with the item for recognition of your generos-

ity. You may also call for pick-up of your items. We would greatly appreciate donations from home business owners such as Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Wildtree, gift certificates for home business services, food items, landscaping, carpentry, specialty goods or artwork. If you have questions about this year’s auc-tion or have an item for pick-up, call the Silent Auction Team, Dale & Kathy Tetzloff, 715-344-7150 or Brian & Mary Guzman, 715-341-9297. Picnic Country Store 2019—Bored? Looking for

something to do? Now is the perfect time to be working on crafts for the Country Store. Due to another successful Picnic in

2018 our inventory is low. We are again in need of items to sell at Picnic 2019. June will be here before we know it! Your generosity and creativity are amaz-ing! We could not do it without you. If you have ques-tions, please contact Diane Dietsche at 715-344-1807 or Diane Karner at 715-457-4759.

SHARED NEWS & ACTIVITIES PEC—The joint Parish Education Committee for St. Joseph and St. Stephen parishes, is calling forth new members. Prayer & study inspire and focus our visioning. Evangelization is key to filling our pews with Spirit-filled seekers. Catechesis helps create in-formed and mission-driven disciples. Do you feel a pull in this direction? Call the Pastoral Minister, 715-341-1617 x112 or just come to one of our next meetings in the Religious Education Center (the former St. Joseph Parish Rectory.) Check the bulletin for our next meeting date. Grief Support Group—The St. Joseph & St. Stephen Support group has been meeting with grieving parish-ioners since last fall. The group offers support for family members to help cope with the loss of loved ones. Terry Miller and Tammy Kenowski organize the support group on behalf of both parishes. The team consists of clergy and lay members who are trained in supporting and comforting those in need. They can also assist individuals and families in need by referring them to other support services, beyond what the group can offer. “We understand that people need to feel comfortable with sharing their loss,” Miller said. “We also understand that certain times, such as anniver-saries and birthdays, can be very difficult. We are ready to help any way we can.” Meetings are held monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at the St. Stephen Rectory from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Parishioners can also receive home visits from a group member by contacting either parish office, Miller at 715-340-2471, or Kenowski at 715-341-2583. Catholics Returning Home—No matter how long you have been away and no matter what reason, we invite you to consider renewing your relationship with the Catholic Church. Check the insert in last weekend’s bulletin for all of the details or call the parish office at 715-341-1617 x101 or 715-344-3319 x101. 2018 Contribution Statements can now be picked up in the parish office. Portage County Right to Life has decided not to run their Mother’s Day Right to Life Signature ad this year, so no collections will take place in April. For more information, please contact them directly. Next weekend, dur ing Mass, we will have a second collection in support of the Diocesan Annual Appeal. This collection is for our seminarians. Your help is greatly appreciated. Fr. Jerzy will be away dur ing the day this week for the Diocesan Priest Retreat.
