    24 Volt Control24 Vdc (20 Vdc minimum to 32 Vdc maximum) 95 watts maximum power consumption. Abattery charger must be capable of at least fiveamps when the governor is energized.

    Stability and GainThese adjustments set the speed controlsresponse to match the individual prime movercharacteristics. Slow and fast response settingsare provided with the dual-dynamics controller.

    Rated SpeedA 25-turn internal potentiometer sets ratedspeed. A factory-installed external potentiometerallows 5% adjustment of rated speed.

    Idle SpeedFactory set at 100% of rated. An optional 50 Kpotentiometer can be connected to set the idlespeed between 25 percent and 100 percent ofrated.

    Steady State Speed BandThe control typically maintains 1/4 of onepercent of rated speed.

    ConstructionThe control box is constructed of cast aluminumand weighs about 1 pound (0.5 kg).*

    * The 1724 actuator weighs about 16.8 pounds (7.6 kg).

    Shielded wires to be twisted pairs or twisted 3 conductor.Grounded at one end only.

    No. 12 AWG or 14 AWG stranded wire. Must be as short as possible. (See max. length in chart.)

    See text for voltage.

    Open for minimum fuel.

    For positive ground systems, switch and fuse to be located in series with battery () and terminal 2. Positive terminal becomes chassis ground. Leads from battery to terminals 1 and 2 must be direct and not pass through distribution points.Use 10 A fuse and switch.

    Approximate speed change with trim potentiometer: 2.5% using a 1k ohm potentiometer 5.0% using a 2k ohm potentiometer

    Approximately one second ramp time per 50 UF.Capacitor specification: 200 UF maximum. 15 WVDC minimum. Less than 30 UA DC leakage current over temperature range.

    Idle range approximately 25% to 100% of rated using 50kpotentiometer. For fixed idle speed, calculate the value of the resistor:

    R = 17 Kohm

    Jumper if idle speed is not used.

    Use a 10 amp fuse (3 AG or GBB type)

    Polarity not important

    Connections to load sensor when used in load sharing application
