ADAMS COUNTY DENTAL CLINIC

The Adams County Health Department Dental Clinic provides over 10,000 patient visits annually to the residents of our county. The program includes a strong diagnostic and preventative oral health program as well as a full line of dental services including restorative procedures, endodontics, orthodontics and oral surgery when necessary. In 2014, we began providing sealants at the Quincy Public Schools and we continued our partnership with Blessing Health System to link individuals with oral health emergencies to our clinical providers. Our partnership with local oral healthcare providers brings Adams and surrounding counties the “Give Kids A Smile” program each February during Oral Health Awareness Month, providing approximately 150 children care on a single day. 2016 was the 10th year of this valuable program.

COMMUNITY HEALTH & EDUCATION PROGRAMS

All Our Kids Network (AOK Network) The AOK Network is a community-based collaboration that is committed to developing a high-quality, well-coordinated, easily accessible system of care that will promote positive growth and development for pregnant women, children birth to five, and their families. The overall goal of the AOK Network is to ensure that all pregnant women, children birth to five, and their families have the opportunity to receive needed services. The AOK Network has eight current work groups including: Network Operations, Community Awareness, Mental Health, Early Childhood, Teen Parents, Church, Fatherhood and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.

The Becoming a Mom program is made possible by a grant through the Illinois Chapter of the March of Dimes. The strategy of this evidence-based curriculum is to reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes including prematurity, to teach women about having a healthy pregnancy and to create a supportive environment that promotes healthy behaviors and positive birth outcomes.
