ADDDESCRIPTION
The Power Line Communication (PLC) technology provides a low cost and easy way to connect and to control devices in the industrial, or domestic, environment. Advanced Digital Design PLC technology is based on ADD1000A chip. It implements a full PLC node, which includes an enhanced 8051 microcontroller, a Medium Access Controller (MAC) and a Modem circuit compatible with the EHS Power Line medium specifications. It is designed to be used by OEM and provides a low cost and small size solution for narrow band power line communications.
ADD7260 board is a device designed to extend communication to a 3‐phase system. It is used to establish a gateway between a computer and a 3‐phase PLC network. It runs two operation modes at the same time:
• 3‐phase repeater: it takes care of detecting frames which does not get a connection with a destination node, and repeating them through the three phases.
• 3‐phase emitter: it sends received frames from the computer through the three phases.
ADD7260 board consists of three ADD7232 boards, each one connected to a different power line phase, and linked through a programmable integrated circuit (CPLD XCP5144XL). It has also a RJ‐45 connector, used to connect it to a computer.

INPUTS/OUTPUTS SCHEME
ADD7260 board is connected to the 3 phases of the power line (L1, L2 and L3). Although it is not important which phase is placed in each connector, neutral (N) must be always in the black painted terminals!

3. Place the ADD7260 board into the distribution box, and make these connections (a serial extension cable is needed. If computer has not a serial port, a USB‐serial adapter can be used):

6. Next, launch C@sa application. ADD7260 serial communication baud rate is 19200. Then, 3‐phase PLC network can be controlled and monitored.
