Project: Synthetic Turf Field Replacement Project – Bailey’s Elementary School (IFB# 19-024) THIS ADDENDUM IS SUPPLEMENTARY TO THE PLANS AND SPECIFICIATONS FOR THE SUBJECT REQUIREMENT. ALL CHANGES, ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS SHALL BECOME PART OF THE CONTRACT AS IF ORIGINALLY CALLED FOR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.

Introduction of the Project Team

Burgess & Niple, Inc. / Engineer Bid Date SEALED BIDS from prequalified bidders will be received by Fairfax County Public Schools,
Gatehouse Administration Center (GAC), 8115 Gatehouse Road, Suite 3400, no later than 3:00pm, Wednesday April 3, 2019.
General Project Overview Replacement of the Synthetic Turf Field System. A new exposed concrete curb will be
installed around the perimeter. The existing goal posts and foundations are to be removed and replaced with new.
All associated demolition, clearing, grading, utility work and other work per the contract documents.
Product Substitutions (10 day prior approvals- due March 23, 2019 should already be submitted).
o There are no approved Substitutions.
Permits
A site permit is not required for a turf replacement project.
A VDOT permit is not required on this project.

Addenda It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to ensure they have received all the addenda.
If an addendum is required after this meeting, the agenda will be included for record.
Allowances
Contingency- $25,000 (see spec 01020)
Subcontractors
Within 48 hours of the bid opening the apparent 3 lowest bidders will need to submit a list of subcontractors (section 00300) only one subcontractor per trade per section shall be listed! o Site and Site Utilities Subcontractor
o Excavation Subcontractor o Synthetic Turf Installer Subcontractor o Synthetic Turf Manufacturer
Project Award
Scheduled School Board Approval will be April 25, 2019.
We may provide letter of intent to award.
We may defer NTP for 60 days.
Construction Time Substantial completion date is July 26, 2019.
Final completion date is August 2, 2019.
Work Sequence
Work should be able to start as early as May 20, 2019 but must be confirmed with FCPS prior to mobilizing.
All contract revisions, prior to bid, shall be made by addenda ONLY. All bid related questions shall be made in writing to [email protected].
Deadline for Contractor questions is Friday, March 22nd Friday, March 29th @ 4:30 pm. Any questions after the 22nd 29th may or may not be responded to. Only contract changes will be issued in an addendum.
