SCOPE OF THIS ADDENDUM:

The following becomes a part of the original project manual and drawings, taking precedence over the

items that may conflict. The bidder shall note receipt and make acknowledgment of the Addendum on

his/her bid form, incorporating its provision in his/her bid.

DRAWINGS:

The following additions, changes and clarifications have been made to the Drawings.

Drawings 2.1 Overall Site Plan and 2.3 Utility Plan:

Change: Water service connection shall be relocated south of meter pit in lieu of a new meter in the proposed

building. Refer to Revised Drawings 2.1R, 2.3R and Photo 1, attached to this addendum. Revise scope of work

as follows:

1. Remove additional asphalt concrete surfacing.

2. Remove blind flange with service connection inside meter pit

3. Coredrill 6” diameter opening into existing meter pit on south side. See attached picture.

4. Install 10 LF of 6” diameter C900 PVC watermain and connect to existing tee inside meter pit with adaptive

flange.

5. Install 2 service saddles and corporations on 6” watermain. 1 – 1.5” diameter service saddle and

corporation (field verify) and 1 – 2” diameter service saddle and corporation.

6. Install 6” diameter MJDI cap with blocking on end of 6” watermain pipe.

7. Reconnect 1.5” service connection to new saddle.

8. Connect 2” service connection to new saddle. (Additional 13 LF of 2” pipe required from original plan

quantity.)

9. Contractor shall coordinate with Owner for water service disconnect and reinstall for the existing service.

1. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL SHALL BE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH SD DENR RULES AND REGULATIONS.

2. TO CONTROL AND PREVENT SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION INTO WATERWAYS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL

FURNISH, INSTALL, AND MAINTAIN A TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM IN APPROPRIATE AREAS OF

CONSTRUCTION AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS OR DETERMINED IN THE FIELD BY THE OWNER, ENGINEER, AND

CONTRACTOR. THE TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE AND SHALL BE MAINTAINED

UNTIL ALL LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY IS COMPLETED AND SUFFICIENT LANDSCAPING OR VEGETATION EXISTS TO

PREVENT ANY RUN-OFF SITUATION FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE. PAYMENT FOR THIS SHALL BE INCIDENTAL TO

OTHER BID ITEMS.

3. PRIOR TO AWARD OF THE PROJECT, THE LOW RESPONSIVE, RESPONSIBLE BIDDER SHALL NAME A RESPONSIBLE

PERSON WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM AS STIPULATED IN THE

PROJECT MANUAL AND ON THE DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THIS

PERSON AND THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON SHALL BE ON SITE AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.

4. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM PLAN AND THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE,

REPLACEMENT, AND UPGRADING OF THE SYSTEM IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER/ENGINEER AND

CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED AND VEGETATION/LANDSCAPING IS ESTABLISHED.

5. ALL EROSION CONTROL METHODS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ANTICIPATED

SITE CONDITIONS. DURING CONSTRUCTION, EROSION CONTROL SHALL BE UPGRADED AS NEEDED FOR

UNEXPECTED STORM EVENTS AND TO ENSURE THAT SEDIMENT AND SEDIMENT-LADEN WATER DO NOT LEAVE THE

SITE.

6. EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY AND AFTER EACH SIGNIFICANT STORM EVENT BY THE

RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE OWNER AND THE CONTRACTOR AND MAINTAINED AS NECESSARY

TO ENSURE THE EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM'S CONTINUED FUNCTIONING.

7. AT A MINIMUM, EROSION CONTROL WATTLES, BLANKETS, AND SILT FENCES SHALL BE INSTALLED AT LOCATIONS

AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. FIELD CONDITIONS MAY DEPICT UPGRADING SAID QUANTITIES TO ENSURE THAT

SEDIMENT AND SEDIMENT-LADEN WATER DO NOT LEAVE THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.

8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE EROSION CONTROL SYSTEM WHICH INCLUDES MUCKING AND REPAIR AS

DETERMINED BY EROSION CONTROL INSPECTIONS FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE THE EROSION CONTROL WATTLES AND SILT FENCE FROM THE PROJECT ONCE

VEGETATION/LANDSCAPPING IS ESTABLISHED. REMOVAL WILL BE CONSIDERED A "WARRANTY" ITEM AT WHICH

TIME THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.

10. DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN SURFACE DRAINAGE IN A MANNER TO MATCH THE

EXISTING DRAINAGE CONDITIONS.

11. THE EXISTING STORM SEWER SYSTEM SHALL REMAIN OPERATIONAL THROUGHOUT ALL CONSTRUCTION

ACTIVITIES.

1. IT IS UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED THAT THE CONTRACTOR HAS CONSIDERED IN THE BID THE PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY UTILITY

APPURTENANCES IN THEIR PRESENT OR RELOCATED POSITIONS AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION WILL NOT BE

ALLOWED FOR DELAYS, INCONVENIENCES OR DAMAGE SUSTAINED DUE TO INTERFERENCE FROM THE UTILITY APPURTENANCES OR THE

OPERATION OF MOVING THEM.

2. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT EXCAVATION IN AREAS ADJACENT TO AND/OR PARALLEL TO OTHER UNDERGROUND UTILITIES WILL NECESSITATE

THE USE OF A TRENCH BOX OR SHORING IN ORDER TO PROTECT SAID UTILITIES.

3. TRENCH SURFACE RESTORATION :

(a.) GRASS AREAS SHALL HAVE TOPSOIL STRIPPED AND STOCKPILED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS AND PLAN DETAILS.

REPLACE TOPSOIL AFTER BACKFILL IS COMPLETED. SEED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT MANUAL.

(b.) ALL AREAS DISTURBED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RESTORED TO SAME ELEVATIONS AS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.

(c.) GRAVEL SURFACED AREAS SHALL BE RESURFACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT MANUAL AND AS SHOWN ON THE

DRAWINGS.

(d.) TRENCHES IN BITUMINOUS SURFACED AREAS SHALL BE RESURFACED AS SHOWN IN THE DETAIL.

4. ALL UTILITY TRENCHES CROSSING ROADS AND DRIVEWAYS SHALL BE BACKFILLED, RESTORED AND REOPENED TO TRAFFIC ON THE THE

SAME DAY THEY ARE EXCAVATED.

5. ALL GRAVITY SEWER PIPE SHALL BE INSTALLED SUCH THAT THE BELLS ARE ON THE UPSTREAM END. PLASTIC PLUG SHALL BE INSERTED

IN THE END OF EACH BELL AFTER LAYING THE PIPE TO PREVENT FOREIGN MATERIAL FROM ENTERING THE PIPE.

6. WATER PIPE SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH A MINIMUM COVER OF 6 FEET. CONTRACTOR SHALL EXPOSE EXISTING UTILITIES AT CROSSINGS

WITH NEW WATER PIPE AN ADEQUATE DISTANCE IN FRONT OF CONSTRUCTION IN ORDER TO TRANSITION OVER AND/OR UNDER SAID

EXISTING UTILITIES.

7. DISPOSING OF HEAVILY CHLORINATED WATER:

THE ENVIRONMENT TO WHICH THE CHLORINATED WATER FROM DISINFECTION IS TO BE DISCHARGED (INCLUDING POINT OF STORM

SEWER DISCHARGE) SHALL BE INSPECTED. IF THERE IS ANY QUESTION THAT THE CHLORINATED DISCHARGE WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO

THE ENVIRONMENT, INCLUDING CREEKS, STREAMS, RIVERS, PONDS OR LAKES THAT SUPPORT AQUATIC LIFE, THEN A REDUCING AGENT

SHALL BE APPLIED TO THE WATER TO BE WASTED TO NEUTRALIZE THOROUGHLY THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL REMAINING IN THE WATER.

CONTACT SD DENR SURFACE WATER QUALITY PROGRAM AT 1-800-773-3351 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

8. THE CONTRACTOR MAY BE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE PROPER TRANSITION COUPLINGS ON HAND TO MAKE THE CONNECTIONS TO THE

DIFFERENT TYPE OF PIPE MATERIALS IF NEEDED.

Acknowledge

receipt of the Addendum by inserting its number and date on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification. This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents. It modifies them as follows:

SHEET 15.2 1. Delete new water meter from the project. Building will be metered from the existing meter pit. The backflow

preventer will remain in the project. SHEET 15.4 1. On the Water Meter Piping Detail remove the water meter, the backflow preventer and all other accessories

shown to remain. SHEET 18.3 1. See Specific Riser Notes for One-line Diagram:

a. Eliminate the following from Specific Note 3: Provide 1 inch rigid steel conduit. b. Clarification: NorthWestern Energy will direct meter on the building. No CT’s are required.
