This addendum has been issued to revise the tender package as follows:

Part D – Information to Tenderers

D.19 – Date of Completion

Delete the first paragraph and replace it with the following:

Work under this contract may commence any time after the execution of the Contract Agreement and

be completed in 125 working days. The work must be completed prior to December 31, 2019 except

for bridge deck waterproofing, asphalt paving, and final restoration. Township Road 12 shall be open

to traffic prior to December 31, 2019. The latter items can be delayed until Spring 2020, but must be

completed prior to May 15, 2020. The 125 working days include 10 days in 2020.

Part H – Special Provisions – Items

SP-14 Rock Protection

Add the following paragraph after the 1st paragraph:

Rock protection may be rounded field stone or quarried limestone.

SP-25 Earth Excavation for New Structure and Dewatering

Add the following paragraph after the 6th paragraph:

The Contractor is hereby advised that Appendix B of OPSS 902 has been invoked.

The following questions have been received. Answers follow in italics

Question 1

Can the Tenderer put a ‘dash’ in the Unit Price column in the Schedule of Tender Prices for ‘Lump

Sum’ items in lieu of writing the same number twice?

Yes, the Tenderer may put a ‘dash’ in the Unit Price column in the Schedule of Tender Prices for

’Lump Sum’ items. Care should be taken to ensure the price provided is completely legible.

Question 2

Who is responsible for the field sampling and testing of concrete as well as compressive strength

testing of concrete cylinders?

The Owner will be completing all field sampling and testing of concrete as well as compressive

strength testing of concrete cylinders.

Question 3

Please clarify where Item 28 is required.

Item 28 (600mm DIA. Hole Lined With Steel Pipe and Filled With Loose Sand After Driving Piles) is

only required at the east and west abutments (12 total). Item 28 is not required at the piers.

Question 4

Section 2 on the Foundation Details drawing (Drawing 4) calls for 6 sets of A15004 ties

longitudinally, but also indicates the center to centre spacing of the A15004 ties be 660±. Based on a

pier footing width of 7100, there appears to be an error; please provide some clarification on this

matter.

There shall be 6 sets of A15004 tie bars longitudinally. The center to center spacing of A15004 ties

should be 1260 ±.

Question 5

Can you confirm that the box beam railing depicted on Drawing 18 can only be supplied by a

manufacturer listed in DSM 9.60.30?

Yes, this is correct.

Question 6

Does the Township have a disposal site available for the excess earth excavation material, or is it up to

the Contractor to find a proper disposal site?

The Township does not have a disposal site available for the excess earth excavation material. There

are numerous gravel pits close to the project site which may except fill.

Question 7

Can we assume that the excess earth excavation materials meets MOE Table 1?

Yes, the Contractor shall assume that all excess earth material meets the requirements of the Ministry

of the Environment (MOE) Table 1.

Question 8

What is the anticipated award date?

It is anticipated that a Tender Award Report will be brought to Council on February 6, 2019, and

award will follow shortly thereafter.

Question 9

Can a drawing be provided showing the full intended layout of the silt fence and straw bale check

dams during the final phase of construction?

No, a drawing cannot be provided at this time. However, Bidders can assume that straw bale flow

check dams will be required in the roadside ditches and a single row of silt fence will be needed at

either the toe of slope or grade match point.

The plantakers list is enclosed with this Addendum.

Question 11

Are there any existing drawings that could be provided for removal purposes?

Enclosed within this Addendum are:

Drawing 1 & Drawing 1A prepared by K. Smart Associates Ltd. dated June 1982.

Drawings 1, 2, & 3 prepared by K. Smart Associates Ltd. dated March 2012.

This addendum shall form part of the contract documents. The Tenderer shall sign the addendum and

shall submit this addendum in the same envelope as his tender.
