Steerable Thrusters - Initial Project Objective
The main goal of this project is to expand the market for Wärtsilä smaller diesel
driven steerable thrusters to include Russia where currently competitor
products are sold in combination with our W20 engines.
To make this possible a series of steerable thrusters dedicated to reach this goal
will be developed. In order for these thrusters to be competitive they will need
to be at the same price-level as the competitor product and be compliant with
lower ice-class rules up to ice-3 as stipulated by RMRS.
