Lot 1

Tag: HB 6.2 Sire: Hinesville A20436

Age: 2yr 4mths

21.0 μ 3.0 SD 14.3 CV 99.7 CF

Greenfields Merino stud founded in 1949. Greenfields horn rams have their own classical stamp and HB 6.2 is a great example of that. A majestic sire with an open head and horn setting, huge barrel (weighed 172kg in July) . A bulky long-stapled fleece of typical Greenfields lustrous, sharply-defined bold wool.

Question:

How many of today's 2tooth rams are really good enough to

hold it together in full wool? This ram passes that test!

Lot 2

Tag: HB 6.5 Sire: J&F 3.1

Age: 1yr 10mths

20.0 μ 3.1 SD 15.5 CV 99.3 CF

Anyone in the market for a top caliber merino sire should look

here. A 'production sire' with frame and 'extra' barrel. A

younger ram with brilliant testing 'gutsy' wool in a full fleece

he carries underline. With extra staple length (140ml in Bendi-

go), his wool is of genuine 'ram-breeding' quality. A bale-filling

sire destined to breed on.

Lot 4

Tag: 170968 Sire: 444 Greenfields Pearler family

Age: 1yr 4mths

Greenfields has long produced poll sires that breed on and in

the last month we've seen progeny from their genetics shine in

studs on Eyre Peninsular and Kingston in the South East. And in

recent times the renown $45,000 Old Ashrose Wil was sired by

a Greenfields ram.

Very good sheep here!! A wool cutter (132% GFW)

Soft-handling bright, white, visual-medium wool sheep. Clean

poll and masculine muzzle. He stands up - alert and athletic.

117kg in July. 1. 170968 – Crystal Brook Show Reserve

Champion Autumn Shorn Poll Ram. Plenty of oomph!!

Lot 3

Tag: R33 Sire: J&F 4.1 Rex

Age: 1yr 4mths

20.0 μ 3.5 SD 17.5 CV 99.8 CF

An interesting sheep that will attract plenty of attention.

He is Merino bred on sire and dam side. His dam, a Hussey

show ewe.

He has an air of 'top-shelf' about him and is a tall 'POLLED'

ram proportionately balanced with good width of body. He

displays a clean poll and soft pure muzzle and thick ears and

carries an even count of well-nourished bright white wool all

over - very good fiber alignment. A very good example of a

dual purpose - meat (111kg in July) and wool production

(132% GFW).

ram sales. We always like to see 'boomers' in corner pens.

A carcase and bone ram (117kg in July) with a strong head

(125% GFW). Crystal Brook Show Grand Champion

strong back-end. Again a powerful bone sheep with

great carcase attributes.

The Collinsville tradition began in 1889 and today, running 5,000 stud ewes, the enterprise continues to be a significant parent stud - the Merino and Poll Merino breed needs Collinsville at the forefront and with the infused passion from the Millington and Dalla familes and their staff, we are confident that the studs most productive days are still to come.

Collinsville genetics have proved both reliable and predictable and when they provide rich stud wool rams to the market - they breed on. Their 2018 team has been deliberately selected for rich, stud wools on well grown robust bodies.

053, the team leader was judged 2018 Riverina Wool Ram of the Year. He does it with ease - weighing 122kgs early August, he is an un-complicated plainer-bodied sire with a flowing apron, long soft muzzle and long body. 70mil at Bendigo - he rivals the better staple lengths going around - but his rich stamp of lustrous wool is 'stud sire' gold!

Watch out when we stand over this 'top of the tree' package in Adelaide 2018.

face that stands square behind. With soft nose, thick

ears and underline he grows heavy-cutting thick, rich,

deeply-stamped ram-breeding stud wool. We believe

358 to be in the very top handful of stud sires to be

offered this year.

This sheep is on the move and could well take

the mantle as a sale 'super star.'

Massive poll ram. 128kg early August. His bone, growth and shape is 'right out there!' Possibly a ram to improve ewe flocks. Maybe for studs looking to up the 'ante' on their lower growth ewes. The poll merino breed needs to continually improve its depth and this sire has the potential to do that. Any stud with a ewe base to the ‘standard’ of this ram will be well set to be set to conquer the poll merino world!!

Old Ashrose, a division of the Ashby family’s Ashrose stud, was founded in 1910 and has continued to be a source of

strongly-boned well-conformed rams. The 2018 Adelaide team is a consistently strong team with quality wool coming to

the fore.

A great example of a highly productive modern sire – A meaty plain-bodied ram that upstands with outlook and pres-

ence – an unmeasurable virtue that must still stand for something!! He was always the biggest lamb of the drop and he

cut well above the drop’s first shearing average. A pure face and poll and loose running front – A Wil son that grows

‘breed on’ clearly-stamped, bold-medium wool – a quality wool growing skin on a good-looking robust body!

Moorundie have topped Adelaide and Hamilton ram sales in

recent years for a reason. With the stud’s foundation going back

to 1955 the Davidson family have provided the poll merino breed

with 'top-shelf' sires that predictably breed on.

Geoff and Bernadette with their shift to Keith have taken their

wool quality to a new level through concentrating on high fleece

weights and waxy white wool.

when a Nyowee sire clicks - it really clicks. Never over-prepared the Michael family rams cruise though the year and then 'jump out

of their skins' moving into spring time.

We see 26 - a great make and shape poll - as a sire that will do well at a new home. He will fill the pen and look the part. With a clean

poll and face, good topline and back end his wool is well-nourished and abundant in 'breed-on' quality. A deep-sided, uncomplicated
