A step further in the education of the dentists of the future

The ADEMA-UIB School of Dentistry, the official center associated to the University of the Balearic Islands, advances one step further in the education of the dentists of the future. Due to its teaching quality and commitment to research, the 2020/2021 academic year will offer the 1st Master’s Degree in Digital Dentistry and New Technologies. The ADEMA School of Dentistry, specialized in health education with almost 30 years of experience, considers that education must continue beyond the regular studies of degrees and that we must continue to bet on knowledge trans-mission to society.

Cutting-edge technology for practices

Our Integrated Dental ClinicUniversity has the most innovative 3D technology in the sector: CBCT for diagnosis, intrao-ral 3D scanner, dental laser, digital periodontal probes, digitized dental equipment, 3D printers and digital microscopes that make it one of the national reference centers. In addition, it has one of the great EST revolutions and disruptive technologies, the 3D virtual dental simulators that allow complex cases to be handled more efficiently and safely by the students before the real contact with the patients. Also, the facilities are equipped with 27 modern dental treatment equipment, laboratories, research and diagnostic imaging rooms.

Professionals in the Dentistry sector need to be updated on digitization techniques in order to reduce time in diagnosis and treat-ment planning, contributing to the improve-ment and effectiveness of oral care. The ADEMA-UIB School of Dentistry, a refe-rence in pedagogical innovation and digital transformation in the Balearic and national scene, has programmed this master’s degree program. The master represents a reference in digital transformation. The master will consisting of 68 credits, so that professio-nals acquire the necessary training to beco-me dentists of the future with the skills and abilities that the digital age demands. In ad-dition, it allows them to strengthen contacts and add synergies between specialists in the sector and industry to facilitate and speed up the introduction of new technologies in their treatments.
