ADHD has received increased attention in recent years. Improved tools for diagnosis and a better understanding of the condition itself have led to an increase in prescribed medications. This proliferation of prescriptions made ADHD the ideal target for DesBio’s new RxS (Homeopathic Prescription Support) line.

A New UnderstandingExtensive research has taken us far beyond the traditional “hyperactive/inattentive” view of ADHD as a clinical diagnosis:

Classic ADHD includes the standard symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity and responds most readily to a stimulant.

Inattentive ADHD symptoms include di�culty focusing, listening, or paying attention and inability to complete tasks. This subtype also responds to a stimulant.

Overfocused ADHD is characterized by negative thoughts and behaviors, stubbornness, compulsivity and an argumentative nature, and responds to a combined regimen of antidepressants and stimulants.

Temporal Lobe ADHD is distinguished by irritability, aggressiveness, anxiety or worry, and memory or learning problems. Antiseizure medications are typically prescribed to treat this type of ADHD.

Limbic ADHD is characterized by depression and a lack of motivation or energy. Stimulant anti-depressants have been successful in reducing these symptoms.

Neurotransmitters and ADHDNeurotransmitters are chemicals that

carry signals across the synapses of the nervous system. Reduction or inhibition of neurotransmitters

reduces the brain’s ability to focus and function at peak e�ciency.

Traditional ADHD medications such as Ritalin and Adderall increase production
