Are you a current Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) looking for an exciting new opportunity or an experienced Band 5/6 nurse looking to progress your career as an ANP?

An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the Transforming Primary Care developments to expand and role out the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Role within Fife’s Community Nursing Service across Fife. These roles will support General Practice and the Community Nursing Teams deliver safe, effective and person centred care to patients within the primary care setting. The ANP role will predominantly focus on the Urgent and Unscheduled Care needs of the older adult population and the complex treatment and management of acutely unwell, palliative or frail patients including: nursing and care home residents; residents in Intermediate Beds; and domiciliary home visiting.

It is recognised that as people live longer, services and the way we work together has to change if we are to continue to meet the needs and aspirations of our communities. In Fife Health and Social Care Partnership there is a recognition that having staff with the right Knowledge and Skills within the community is required to support patients to live long and healthy lives in their own home or in a homely environment.

You will be required to either:

• Be working in an Advance Practice role and have undertaken MSC (level 11) Advance Practice studies to PGDip level or equivalent

Or

• Be an experienced nurse, educated to degree level, and willing to undertake your MSC (level 11) Advance Practice studies to PGDip level. You will be fully supported and provided with a clinical supervisor, study time and a funded place at Dundee University Kirkcaldy Campus commencing your studies in March 2019 with a planned completion date of 12-15 months. This is dependent on the your previous academic study as there may be an opportunity to RPL previous academic credits towards the PGDip in Advanced Practice. This will be done under Annex 21. Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependant on the duration of the training period (see terms and conditions in job pack).

You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team with the ability to work autonomously utilising your own initiative, clinical judgement and decision making. As this is a community post you will also be required to travel across Fife.

You will be employed by either the H&SCP West Division or East Division Community Nursing Service and will predominately be based within one of the seven H&SCP Locality areas (see map in job pack), however this would be flexible dependent on service needs.

NHS Fife Research & Development Department is seeking to employ a Research Nurse to increase patient recruitment into research studies across a range of specialties in Fife. We are looking to recruit this senior research nurse for an exciting and challenging post based within the R&D Department.

As a member of the NHS Fife R&D Team you will support investigators to undertake a range of commercial and non-commercial, eligibly funded research. You will be responsible for leading a team in various aspects of study management including helping with study approvals, set up, patient recruitment, and providing excellent clinical care, education, support and monitoring of those participants enrolled.

Additionally, you will be involved with accurate and confidential data collection, liaising with national trial centres and study monitors. You will work collaboratively with Principal and Chief Investigators and the wider multi-disciplinary teams in the management of your own caseload of research patients and studies.

The post would be ideally suited to an experienced nurse with excellent organisational and IT skills. Both extensive previous clinical experience and clinical trials work experience is essential for this Band 6 role, as is the ability to manage a number of concurrent projects.

You will have knowledge of research principles (including confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues), and an understanding of research within the context of the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice.

Attention to detail and strong communication skills are key requirements, along with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ability to travel between all sites within NHS Fife is essential.

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to take up the post of Charge Nurse in Ward 41 Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.

Ward 41 is a 21 bedded Acute and early rehabilitation Stroke Unit.  The unit offers a 24/7 specialised stroke care with challenges of delivering, in a timely manner, evidence based care that is of the highest quality. 

You are required to have and be first level registered and educated to degree level or equivalent with significant post registration experience.

You will help drive local and national practice developments and demonstrate a commitment to leading person centred, safe and effective care. To enable delivery of a positive experience of care for those persons who require this level of Inpatient care. You will be required to work flexible shifts including days, nights and weekends. As part of the Emergency Care Directorate you will be given the opportunity to fulfill the role of Duty Charge Nurse for the directorate on a rotational basis.

An opportunity has arisen for four dynamic individuals to take on the role of Primary Mental Health Workers within Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.

CAMHS Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHW) is an initiative within Fife CAMHS which seeks to compliment the current provision for children and young people with mental health difficulties. The main emphasis of the team will be to provide early-stage mental health assessment and interventions through liaison, consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals. PMHW’s will also provide direct and collaborative clinical interventions with children and young people whilst seeking to enable community and primary care-based professionals to effectively recognise children and young people's strengths and difficulties and the impact on mental wellbeing.

The Primary Mental Health Workers will be responsible for delivering these key functions whilst assisting the team leader in developing the service in collaboration with the existing CAMHS teams and primary care partners.

In order to fulfil this role you will be confident in providing consultation, supervision and training to primary care professionals and other agencies who are engaged with children and young people in Fife. You will have skills in delivering effective training packages and will be able to provide direct input to children and families through group interventions or individual assessment and treatment to those who present with mild to moderate mental health difficulties across Fife. An essential component of this role will be the ability to develop effective relationships across agencies to ensure a partnership approach to care.

Applications are invited from staff qualified as Registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology (CAAP) with evidence of continuous professional development and who can demonstrate skills and competencies normally associated with 2 years experience in a Child & Adolescent Mental Health setting. An opportunity has arisen for suitably experienced Mental Health Nurses to join the Band 6 Charge Nurses in the Unscheduled Care Assessment Team (UCAT) based in Central Fife and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital.

We are looking for nurses who posses excellent team working skills, use initiative, have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and time management skills. Also a requirement is to have a valid NMC registration. There is a wide range of ongoing training opportunities within NHS Fife to develop your skills and range of clinical supervisors within the mental health service.

UCAT provide, in collaboration with medical staff colleagues, a response to all episodes of unscheduled mental health care in Fife. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week service. The Team also supply Charge Nurse support to the Acute Ward at Whyteman’s Brae, out of hours and are bed managers across the mental health sites in Fife.

Candidates will require to have considerable experience as a Staff Nurse in anappropriate mental health setting.

Ward 42 is a busy Acute Medicine of The Elderly ward where it is essential that you work well under pressure whilst remaining calm. You will be required to take charge of the ward in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse carrying out clinical supervision, leadership and management duties. The Charge Nurse needs to be clinically experienced but also have the knowledge and ability to support the SCN in the management of the ward including staff governance. The candidate should have a commitment to acute medicine of the elderly, patient centred care and support effective team working. They must demonstrate understanding of the complexities of caring for frail individuals with acute and chronic episodes of delirium whilst planning care and treatment for acute medical conditions.

It is anticipated that ward 4 will open for a four month period from November 2018 to Feb/March 2019 and we would be keen to speak to you if you would like a chance to take us up on our offer. The post-holder will provide high standards of patient care in support of the team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, person centred care. Good interpersonal skills are required and some of the duties may require the use of IT equipment.

Although the individual will be working within a team, they will be required to have the ability to be working within the remit of lone working.

NHS 24 is looking for a temporary, part-time Band 7 Operational AHP lead to support the national Musculoskeletal Advice & Triage service (MATs). Millhill Surgery is based in the historic town of Dunfermline with easy access to the motorways to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We work from purpose built premises. We are looking to recruit a GP to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2019 until the end of August 2019. These dates are negotiable and the post has the potential to be extended. The GP going on leave covers 8 sessions per week over 4 days.

This position may offer newly qualified GPs an opportunity to work in a supported environment to experience regular work whilst also exploring other opportunities. Our list size is approximately 9000 using EMIS and Docman. We have advanced nurse practitioners seeing out minor illness who support our GPs who are on 15 minute appointments.
