VACANCY – EXECUTIVE MANAGER: INFANTRY WEAPONS(INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)

PURPOSE OF JOB

To manage the activities, program and business objectives of Infantry Weapons in support of achieving the business objectives (vision, mission and business) of DLS.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Primary Responsibility

Management of Infantry Weapons as a profitable business within a matrix organization

Strategic Management: Determine and implement strategic direction for Infantry Weapons. Provide leadership to achieve Infantry Weapons’ strategy for the local and international markets. Actively participate as part of Extended EXCO to develop and implement DLS strategy and business plan. Actively participate to develop and implement DLS operational activities. Actively participate in DLS and multi-divisional activities. Negotiate and manage program strategic alliances / agreements. Manage contracts on system and subsystem levels. Establish business partners for joint ventures.

Programme and Strategic Management of Infantry Weapons contracts

Marketing : Directly to SANDF and Armscor. Marketing support to Business Development for international business.

Planning: Integrate financial inputs for proposals. Manage integrated resource planning for systems development work.

General Management: Profitable programme execution. Line management of Infantry Weapons. Negotiate agreements and prices with suppliers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

B. Eng or suitable qualification/experience MBA or equivalent Programme/Project Management training Development experience -10 years Programme/Project Experience -10 years

Person requirements:

Strong leader Structured Good communicator and negotiator Take initiative as required Independent worker Strategic thinker and implementer Must be able to function independently as well as in a team. Must be innovative and be prepared to test and implement new ideas. Must be tenacious, able to work under pressure and to keep target dates.
