Scoring the Essay test2 ways of scoring an essay test:
1. Holistic scoring. A total score is assigned toeach essay question based on the teachersgeneral impression or over-all assessment.Answers to an essay question are classifiedinto the following categories:
Outstanding, very satisfactory, fair, andpoor. A score value is assigned to each ofthese categories.
Outstanding gets the highest score while poorresponses gets the lowest score.
