In his recent visit, former President Bill Clinton described Guilford College

as “a place where people believe you can prepare for the modern world

without giving up on all traditional wisdom.”

Since 1837, Guilford has offered a practical liberal arts education guided

by Quaker values. Our small classes and stimulating programs foster academic

excellence, civic engagement, and a global perspective. Each student receives

personal guidance from faculty advisors.

Experiential learning — including

research, internships, and study abroad

— helps strengthen the connection

between thought and action.

We believe that change begins with us.

At Guilford, you’ll find professors who

know your name and care about your

goals, a college-wide commitment to

civic engagement and volunteerism,

and a range of green initiatives.

A “Best Value” education that promotes positive change

“As a first-

year student

at Guilford,

I gained

confidence

and realized

that I have

something

to offer—as a peer tutor, a student

leader, and ultimately a congressional

intern. This year, I will study at

Oxford for one semester—and I’ve

been offered a job by one of the

offices where I interned.”
