Te O may participate in a tournament or which he or sheis responsible only i there is a second tournament organizerpresent. Tis second O must be present and announced at thebeginning o the tournament, and is responsible or all rulings

or games in which the primary O is playing.

Tournament and Match Structure

Tournament FormatsAll ocially sanctioned tournaments or Android: Netrunner  will use the ollowing ormat:

• Swiss Format

• 65 minute rounds (the O may adjust this time by +/- 10minutes at his discretion beore the tournament begins)

• Match play consisting o two games

Match StructureA match consists o two games. Players alternate playingCorporation and Runner during a match. For the rst game o a match, the players must decide who will play Corporation andwho will play Runner by using a random method (such as a dieroll or coin ip). Te winner o this random method chooseswhich side to play.

Afer drawing his or her starting hand, the Corporation mustdecide rst whether to take his or her mulligan, ollowed by the

Runner.

Winning MatchesTe winner o each match is the player with the most matchpoints at the conclusion o the match.

Te winner o a game scores 10 match points. Te loser o agame scores match points equal to the number o agenda pointshe or she had at the time the game ended.

At the conclusion o the match each player totals up the matchpoints he or she scored in both games, and the player with thehighest total wins the match.

PrestigeAt the conclusion o each match, players are awarded prestigebased on their results. For each game a player wins duringhis or her match, he or she gains 2 prestige. Te winner o thematch also gains an additional 2 prestige. Tus, the potentialmaximum amount o prestige that a player can gain each roundis 6. Remember that you still gain prestige or winning a game, even i you lose the match.

Example: Kevin just nished playing his match against Jasmine, and each player won a single game. Tis means that they each

gain 2 prestige. In order to gure out who won the match, they total up their match points rom both games. Kevin won the rst

game (10 points) but lost the second game with only 3 agenda points. Tis gives him a total o 13 match points. Jasmine lost the rst game but had 5 agenda points when she did, and won thesecond game (10 points). Tis gives her 15 match points. Jasminewins the match and gains 2 additional prestige.

In the case o a tied match, players split the prestige or thatmatch (each gaining 1 prestige).

Going to TimePlayers play both games over the course o 65 minutes. Tesecond game is not started until the rst game is completed.

I time is called and neither player has achieved victory inthe current game, then play continues until both players havecompleted one turn. I victory has still not been achieved aferthe nal turn, then no one wins the game and the playersscore match points based on the number o agenda points they

currently have. Players then total up their match points likenormal to see who won the match.

In the case o an unfnished game, players split the prestigeor that game (each gaining 1 prestige).

Example: Simon and Doc are unable to nish their current gamein time. Simon is taking his turn when time is called, and so the

game is completed afer Doc’s next turn. At that point Simon has6 agenda points and Doc has 4, so Simon scores 6 points or thematch, and Doc scores 4. Each player also gains 1 prestige or theunnished game, even though Simon had more agenda ponts.

I the players have not started the second game o a matchwhen time is called, then they do not gain any prestige romthat game. A game is not considered to have started until theCorporation draws 1 card rom R&D at the beginning o hisrst turn.

Tournament StructureEach tournament round, players gain prestige based on theresults o their games and match. Afer a predeterminednumber o tournament rounds (depending on the eld sizeand time constraints o the tournament), either a tournamentchampion is declared or there is a cut to a single-eliminationbracket. Te elimination bracket is generally used or larger

tournaments.

I there is no elimination bracket, then the player with themost prestige afer all tournament rounds are completed isthe winner o the tournament, with ties broken by total matchpoints accrued during the tournament.

I there is an elimination bracket, the players with the mostprestige (usually a top 4 or top 8) will be seeded and pairedup in order to determine the tournament champion. Tenumber o players who make the cut must be determined andannounced beore the start o the tournament. Each player’sorder o nish in the preliminary rounds determines his or her

seeding in the elimination brackets: the player who qualieswith the most prestige in the preliminary rounds will play against the player who qualied with the least prestige in thepreliminary rounds, the player with the second most prestigewill play against the player with the second least prestige, andso on. ies are broken by strength o schedule rst (totalling upthe prestige o each player’s opponents) and then by a player’stotal match points accrued during the tournament. A playeradvances in the championship bracket with a match win, a

player is eliminated rom contention with a match loss. In thecase o a match tie, the higher seed advances.

When the nal 2 participants compete in the championshipmatch, there is no time limit. Te winner o this nal matchis the tournament champion. In the case o a match tie, theplayers randomly choose sides as i they were starting a new match and play a third game. Te winner o this third gamewins the championship match and the tournament.

Note that in elimination play, the match can be decided beorecompleting the second game. I this happens there is no need tocomplete the second game.
