ADNA SCHOOL DISTRICT #226 January - February 2015
Weyerhaeuser
Adna High School students will now be able to compete in a series of competitions in the Spring of 2015 thanks to grants totaling $17,450.00. These funds were awarded to the high school by the following entities; Bezos Family Foundation Team Grant, PNW FIRST Team Grant, US FIRST Rookie Grant, and OSPI First Robotics Grant. The students are very excited to have this opportunity. The funds will be used towards entry fees, parts and supplies, and coaching. The district would like to thank the donors and Mrs. Mela-nie Case for all of her assistance with the grant writing. This opportunity is greatly appreciated.

THE FINAL LAP

In November of this year we received news that we have been awarded a grant from the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation in the amount of $25,000.00. We would like to thank the foun-dation for their consid-
eration and generosity.

FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 GRANT
The Adna School District has applied for another “Fuel Up To Play 60” Grant!! On November 17th Marcy Scheuber, Teresa Berg and Hannah Scheuber went to Century Link Field and learned all about applying for a district wide grant this year. This means the elementary and the mid-dle/high school will receive funds to promote healthy food choices and being active for 60 minutes everyday! At the elementary we are purchasing new pedometers, fitness bands, and a new food serving bar. The middle/high school is purchasing a treadmill for the new weight room and items for the kitchen to make smooth-ies. We are all very excited to work with the Washington Dairy Council and our own Seattle Seahawks again this
year.
