Welcome back to what promises to be a fantastic year in the life of St Paul’s College for

2020.

A Very Warm Welcome to Mrs Bronwyn Shipton – Assistant Principal: Mission and Wellbeing

As part of the new structure of secondary colleges in the Lismore Diocese, St Paul’s now has

two Assistant Principals to look after the increasingly complex and disparate areas of

curriculum and learning, and mission and wellbeing. Mrs Shipton comes to the College with

a wealth of experience in schools across Sydney, Newcastle and more recently Port

Macquarie. I ask you to make her feel welcome and comfortable in her new surroundings

as she gets to know our wonderful College community.

Diocese of Lismore – Catholic Schools Ltd Some may recall that the new company – Diocese of Lismore –

Catholic Schools Ltd, was slated to come into being as of January 1, 2020. That indeed did happen, but for all of

us, it means little at all in terms of changes to routine and function of the College. What is important to know is that

the company, now with a chair and a board, comprises some very important people – one of whom is our own Fr

James Foster. This is a highly prestigious position and I congratulate Fr James on his appointment to the inaugural

board of the new company. The board has also appointed its first Chief Executive Officer, Dr Sally Towns, whose

title changes from Director to CEO. Very strong Kempsey connections and representation on the new board, so

we should rightfully be proud of their achievements.

Welcome to New Staff This year the College welcomes nine new staff members in a variety of teaching and

support roles. Welcome to:

Mrs Magenta Kerr – Teaching Science and Mathematics.

Mr Hayden McMillan – Teaching Fridays for Mrs Belinda Allman.

Mrs Tess Meehan – Teaching Geography and History in a job share with Mrs Helen Bush.

Mr Adam Mascord – Teaching Coding, IST, iSTEM, and job share with Laura Vonholdt.

Miss Darcy O’Loughlin – YMO Trainee

Miss Calissa Percival – YMO Trainee

Mr Damien Owens – Sports/PE Trainee

Miss Monique Brown – Aboriginal Education Worker Trainee

Mrs Janelle McCarthy – Cleaner

We also have new Leadership positions this year:

Assistant Principal – Mission and Wellbeing – Mrs Bronwyn Shipton

Acting Assistant Principal – Learning and Teaching – Mr Leon Robinson

Acting Leader of Curriculum – Ms Catriona Martin

Acting Leader of Learning English – Miss Sarah Clarke

Leader of Innovation and Digital Learning – Mr Lee Hancock

HSC Analysis and ATARs

St Paul’s College is very proud of its students and the fantastic results in last year’s HSC. Results were nothing less

than wonderful and reflect that our hard work is showing returns but also needs to be continued, not just at a senior

level, but in giving those underlying skills in the junior years. We need to keep moving forward. As an old mentor of

mine often said – if you are not going forwards, you are going backwards because others will continue to pass you

by.

The College had three students who achieved an ATAR of over 90 with Carla Silvia Dux of St Paul’s College for 2019

with an ATAR of 96.75. Carla hopes to use her score to enter university to study Engineering. The other two students

with ATARs above 90 were Heath Lancaster with 94.85 and Rowan Hodges scoring 90.1, and we congratulate

them on their achievement.

Overall, the College achieved twelve Band 6 results (90 marks or higher) and fifty-seven Band 5 results (80–89

marks) making it one of the more successful groups in recent years. Other outstanding results include:

● Heath Lancaster – 10th in State Music 1 with 99

● Heath Lancaster – 99 Music 1

● Jemma Edwards – 98 Music 1

● Rowan Hodges – E4 Extension History

● Heath Lancaster – 94 Geography

● Heath Lancaster – 92 Earth and Environmental Studies

● Grace Madden – 91 Textiles and Design

● James Miguel-Leigh – 92 Music 1 as a non-ATAR student

● Calissa Percival – 92 Drama

● Carla Silvia – 92 Chemistry

● Carla Silvia – 90 Physics

● Carla Silvia – 45 Studies of Religion 1

● Lilly Sydenham – 96 Textiles and Design

The students also achieved eight x E3 results in extension courses which was very pleasing. We also had four

nominations for HSC Major Works displays including:

● Heath Lancaster – Music 1

● Calissa Percival – Drama

● Lilly Sydenham – Textiles and Design

● Tom Roberts – Industrial Technology

Ist in Diocese – four of our students with their HSC results achieved 1st place in their course across our Diocesan

Schools.

Heath Lancaster – 94 Geography

Rowan Hodges – 47 History Extension

Heath Lancaster – 99 Music 1

Lilly Sydenham – 96 Textiles and Design

Proudly, I can report that our results put us one hundred and sixty-two places above any other school in the

Macleay Valley. We were positioned 8th in the Lismore Diocese, and a mere seven placings behind St Joseph’s

Regional in Port Macquarie on a State-wide comparison.

Building Works and Upgrades Over the holiday break, the College received very joyous news that we have been

approved for a grant to commence the next stage of building works. This will involve a new full-size multi-purpose

hall, redesigned current hall space to incorporate performing arts spaces including drama, dance, music and

languages, and the redevelopment of current music and languages spaces into new general purpose learning

areas. Full details of this development will be made available in the coming weeks.

Parents and Friends Association Our next meeting of the year will take place in the College

boardroom on Wednesday, 11 March at 6 pm. All interested parents, carers and friends of the

College are invited to come along and support this wonderful group and their work in raising much

needed funds for the students of the College.

Here’s looking forward to a great year.

God Bless

Welcome back to all students and staff for the 2020 school year. I hope that families have enjoyed their time

together and that it was a positive break.

No doubt you have all heard about the 2019 HSC results and the fantastic efforts from students at St Paul’s College.

These excellent results reflect the Learning Vision of our College as outlined below:

We, the St Paul’s College learning community, are challenged by Christ to use our gifts and talents to strive to

achieve our personal best.

We believe that when we take responsibility for our own learning, we all become authentic life-long learners.

As a learning community we endeavour to foster the partnership which exists between students, parents and staff

to continually improve individual learning and growth.

As a learning community, St Paul’s College seeks to be innovative and use dynamic teaching practices, along with

consistent and fair classroom management strategies, to create a highly successful 21st century learning

environment. We will do our best to achieve this Learning Vision again in 2020.

VERIFICATION FORMS

These will be sent home. This is the data held at

the school regarding your family. Please check

this information and make any corrections if

needed, then sign and return to the school office

(even if no changes are required). Thank you

Work Readiness Pathway As the new Assistant Principal–Learning and Teaching, I will be collaborating this year

with staff, parents and students on developing a new, dedicated education pathway at St Paul’s College for Non-

ATAR senior students (Years 11 and 12), which we plan to implement for Year 11 in 2021.

All students must now stay at school until 17 years of age, unless they can find full-time employment at the

completion of Year 10. Consequently, we have many students who now choose to complete a Non-ATAR

pathway. Students who choose this pathway do not plan to go straight to university after completing the HSC. In

fact, many of these student’s progress into trades and technical education that is often provided by NSW TAFE.

The largest growth area in senior school at St Paul’s College is currently in the TVET subjects of Hospitality,

Construction and Primary Industries, where students can achieve a nationally recognised Cert II Qualification and

can also use one TVET subject as a contributor to the ATAR.

The plan is to develop a Senior School Non-ATAR pathway that prepares students to enter the workforce. This

pathway will include the study of English Studies, Mathematics Standard 1, Catholic Studies, Work Studies and a

combination of the TVET subject already offered at St Paul’s, along with industry appropriate Work Experience.

In preparation for the implementation of this initiative, we have decided to conduct an information night for

interested Year 10 parents/carers and students on Monday, 16 March (Week 8) at 6.30 pm in the College Drama

Theatre. This will be a good chance for Year 10 parents/carers to familiarise themselves with this pathway and

clarify any questions or concerns.

Communication between parents and staff is crucial for successful educational outcomes. I encourage all

parents to contact the College if they have any concerns regarding the education or wellbeing of their children.

This on-line link will give you access to all methods available to contact the College.

One of the most important organisational tools that students have at their disposal is the College Student Diary.

Students need to learn the skill of using the diary for writing down homework, assessments and other reminders. The

other important function that the diary plays is that it is a quick and effective method of communication between

the College and home. The diary is also a quick reference point for information about College policies. All

students have a diary, and we expect they use it correctly. This includes parents sighting and signing it for each

student in Years 7–12 each week, checking for any teacher correspondences, and that homework is being listed

and completed. All diaries will be checked during Pastoral Care time on a weekly basis.

I ask all parents to make themselves familiar with the ‘Mobile Phone and Electronic Devices Policy’, which can be

found on Page 12 of the Junior Diary, and on the College web-site. Your support in regards to College

expectations around appropriate use of electronic devices helps us to ensure our children remain safe, and

information coming into and out of the College is controlled. We also ask that contacting your child occurs via the

front office, and remind you that the College takes no responsibility for the safety and security of these devices.

Absenteeism This year, parents will again be notified of student absences by an automated text message. If an

acceptable reason is received on the same day as the absence, then this reply will be recorded. Written notes

explaining an absence are also acceptable if received within seven days of the absence, after which an

unexplained absence will be recorded which cannot be altered. Text responses such as ‘yes’ or ‘I am aware’, for

example, which do not explain the absence, will not be deemed as an acceptable explanation for the absence

and will require a phone call or note in order for an explained absence to be recorded. Once again, I thank you

for your support in this.

Students Being Late to School Without Explanation It is very important that students arrive to school on time. The

school day begins at 8.55 am. Students who arrive late without a parental explanation will have the following

consequences:

1st time – Pastoral Co-ordinator records late event.

2nd time – Pastoral Co-ordinator informs student that there is a pattern.

3rd time – There is a pattern of lateness and the Pastoral Co-ordinator phones parents/carers to discuss

concerns and outline the consequences of any future occurrences.

4th time and ongoing – A lunch time detention is issued by the Pastoral Co-ordinator, the length which

comprises the school time that the student has missed (calculated from 8.55 am).

Maximum attendance is one of the main determinants of a students’ success at school. We expect parents/carers

to ensure that their child attends school unless they have an acceptable excuse. It is no accident that our three

most successful students in the 2019 HSC Examinations also had the top three attendance rates.

NSW School Vaccination Program Each year NSW Health works in partnership with schools to offer the vaccines

recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) for adolescents as part of the

school vaccination program. In 2020 the following vaccines will be offered:

YEARS VACCINE NUMBER OF DOSES

Year 7 Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine 2-doses at least six months apart

Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine Single dose

Years 10 Meningococcal ACWY vaccine Single dose

Parent Information Kits that include an information sheet, consent form and privacy statement will be sent home to

parents/guardians. To consent to the vaccination of their child, parents/guardians are advised to:

Page 6: ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’moodle.kmpslism.catholic.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/1... · 2020. 2. 13. · Lighting Our Past, Opening Doors to Our Future’PO Box 3145 West Kempsey

read all the information provided

complete the consent form, including signing their name next to the vaccine/s they would like their child to

receive

return the completed consent form to their child’s school

ensure that their child eats breakfast on the day of the school vaccination clinic.

Please note that, to improve vaccination completion, students will be opportunistically offered any missed doses

during Year 7 or 8 (for HPV and dTpa vaccination) and during Year 10 or 11 (for Meningococcal ACWY

vaccination).

Parents/carers who wish to withdraw their consent for any reason may do so by writing to the school Principal or

phoning the school. The Procedure for Withdrawal of Consent is available on the NSW Health website at

www.health.nsw.gov.au/immunisation/ Pages/withdraw_consent.aspx.

A Record of Vaccination will be provided to each student vaccinated at each clinic either as a physical card or

a text message sent to the mobile number recorded on the consent form. Details about vaccinations given at

school will also be uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) to support complete vaccination

histories.

Mr Leon Robinson – Acting Assistant Principal – Learning and Teaching

Firstly, I would to thank the College community for the very warm welcome I have received since commencing my

position this year. I feel very privileged to join such a professional and passionate team that has the best interest of

your children as their focus. I look forward to meeting all parents and caregivers over the coming year and,

together, we can foster a positive relationship. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of parents working

alongside us in the educational journey of your children. Positive parent partnerships make a difference in the life

and the successes of your children. You can stay in contact with us in a variety of ways: student’s diary,

parent/teacher evenings, semester reports, phone calls, emails and face-to-face interviews. Please feel free to

contact myself or any staff with any issues or concerns.

Pastoral Care Pastoral Care is an integral part of life at St Paul’s College. We aim to educate the whole person

within a Christian Community. The focus is development of students: academically, spiritually, physically, socially,

emotionally and morally. The Pastoral Care groups will give students a real sense of belonging and engender spirit

within each PC house. To allow for students to feel comfortable as they start their high school journey at the

College, Year 7 have a dedicated Pastoral Care group which will ensure a smooth transition. The remainder of the

College has a Vertical PC structure with Years 8 – 12, which will continue to build on the character of the College,

and further enhance a greater sense of belonging and community.

Bullying Bullying is not only unacceptable at this College, but is also unacceptable in society. At St Paul’s, we

treat bullying very seriously. All students have been made aware of a google form called ‘Being Bullied’, which Mr

Robinson reminded them of at assembly first week back. Students who believe that they, or any other students,

are being bullied are asked to complete this form. We cannot deal with the problem of bullying unless we are

aware of it. Of course, just informing a teacher, Pastoral Co-ordinator or myself is also fine, however, we

appreciate that some students might feel unable to do this in a face-to-face manner. Parents, it is important to be

aware that when someone says or does something unintentionally hurtful and they only do it once, THAT IS NOT

NICE. Likewise, when someone says or does something intentionally hurtful and they do it once, THAT IS MEAN.

However, when someone says or does something intentionally hurtful and they keep doing it over a period of time,

even when you tell them to stop or show them that you are upset, THAT IS BULLYING. Thank you for your support in

this matter.

Uniform The majority of the students wear the College and sports uniforms with pride, and I remind all

parents/carers that the older style uniform is no longer accepted. Please see the information below about

expectations regarding the uniform. Only the correct jewellery is to be worn, shoes cleaned and polished and hair

neat and tidy. Boys should be cleanly shaven, and no make-up of any description is permitted in Years 7–10.

Reminder About the Expectations of Facial Piercings: College policy on uniform accessories in respect to piercings

states that no visible facial or body piercing is permitted, and that up to two small plain studs or plain sleepers only,

are allowed in each ear. Students arriving to school with new piercings or with current piercings covered with tape

will be asked to remove both. No visible tattoos are allowed. The College uniform and accessories are outlined on

pages 109–111 of the Junior Student Diary, and in the opening pages of the Senior Diary. Again, in 2020, Williamson

International will be the sole supplier of our regular College uniform. This can only be purchased online directly to

Williamson International with credit card facility for payment (Visa and MasterCard only). Order at https://shop-

williamson.com.au/ (more information is on the College web site home page, under the ‘Parent’ tab). Sample sets

of each item and size are available at St Paul’s as try-on samples to determine the correct size prior to placing on-

line orders. Returns and exchanged goods must be returned in their original packaging and the cost of postage in

both directions is the responsibility of the buyer. (We are aware that some families are still waiting on parts of the

uniform as they are out of stock. All staff are aware of this issue.) The College Uniform requires:

Boys tailored trousers and shorts must be worn with a plain black belt.

When wearing plain black stockings with the skirt, socks are not to be worn.

Year 7–12 boys are to wear their shirts out.

Year 11–12 boys are to have their shirts tucked in only when wearing their ties in Terms 2 and 3.

Girls skirts and shorts must come to the top of the knee when standing upright.

NB: Please note the changes to the shoes and the socks for 2020. You can find the changes and the policy of

uniform by clicking on the link https://www.kmpslism.catholic.edu.au/parents/uniform/

Mrs Bronwyn Shipton – Assistant Principal – Mission and Wellbeing

Welcome back to 2020! I hope and pray that you and your family have had a restful and enjoyable break as we

commence another busy, exciting and grace-filled year at St Paul’s. For those of you who are new to our College

or indeed, to Catholic Education, a very special welcome to you – it is wonderful to have you join us as a part of

our community. In one of our staff formation sessions last year, we were told the truth about Catholic community,

that “All are welcome, because all belong”

Youth Ministry Officers It gives me great delight to welcome aboard

Darcy O’Loughlin and Calissa Percival as our Youth Ministry Officers

(YMOs) for 2020. Both of these young ladies graduated from St Paul’s last

year and were our female College Captains too. Over their time at St

Paul’s as students they have sought to explore their faith and deepen

their relationship with Jesus, and now we are blessed that they have

elected to spend another year sharing that gift of faith with our College

community.

Last week they attended, along with all of the YMOs from the Diocese,

their training in Lismore, which I had the opportunity to also be a part of

for a few days. It was inspiring to see so many faithful witnesses to God

gathered to get equipped and fired up for their year of Mission. We are truly blessed to be part of such a vibrant

Diocese that has these young witnesses ready to serve.

Senior Ministry Leaders I would also like to congratulate and welcome aboard our Senior Ministry Leaders for 2020:

Year 12: Emily Blanch, Mitchell Bradford, Liam King, Rebecca Morris, Tahlia Saint

Year 11: Jenaya Allen, Phoebe Bramley, Emily Brenton, William Butler, Jack Morgan

It is wonderful to have such a committed, excited group of students who wish to share and deepen their own faith

and leadership skills in and amongst their peers. Throughout the year, they will be working alongside our YMOs to

help plan and facilitate many of the ministry events in our College.

Induction Mass Today, we celebrated our opening school Mass for 2020. This was a wonderful occasion for our

College community where we inducted and commissioned our College Leaders for 2020. As a Catholic

community, celebrating the Mass is the greatest prayer that we can partake in, and so I thank our musicians and

also Fr James Foster, our parish priest, for contributing to such a joyful liturgy today.

Relics of St Thérèse of Lisieux The relics of St Thérèse of Lisieux (The Little Flower) and her parents (Saints Louis and

Zélie Martin) will visit St Agnes’ Catholic Church in Port Macquarie next week on Wednesday, 19 February. Relics

are the remains of a holy person, which are revered because of their connection to that holy person and St

Thérèse of Lisieux is considered to be one of the greatest saints of modern times, due to her simple life, yet

profound writings.

Page 8: ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’moodle.kmpslism.catholic.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/1... · 2020. 2. 13. · Lighting Our Past, Opening Doors to Our Future’PO Box 3145 West Kempsey

Our Year 10 Youth Ministry students and staff will attend a special Mass in Port Macquarie at 1pm on this day to

mark this significant and exciting occasion. Permission notes were due back today, Friday, 14 February.

Year 12 Retreat The Year 12 Retreat will be taking place next week, from Thursday, 20 – Friday, 21 February at the

Francis Retreat at Bonny Hills. We’re looking forward to an enjoyable two days of bonding, fun, prayer and

reflection as our Seniors commence their final year of schooling.

Permission notes and deposits were due earlier in the week, and I thank all those who have returned these on time.

Ash Wednesday The start of Lent is less than two weeks away now, with Ash Wednesday occurring on 26 February.

As a school, we will have a special Liturgy at 11.30 am in the Edmund Rice Centre, as a way to mark this important

time in the Church’s calendar. Parents and friends are welcome to join us for this liturgy, which marks the

beginning of our journey to Easter.

Year 7 Belonging Day On Monday, 2 March, our Year 7s will attend their first high school retreat day. The aim of

the day will be for our youngest pupils to get to know their school, their peers and their faith a little bit more in a

relaxed, enjoyable way. Our Youth Ministry Officers and Senior Ministry Team will help to run the day, and the cost

will be covered by the RE subject levy. More details are to come directly to the Year 7 students.

Year 10 Retreat This year the timing and structure of the Year 10 Retreat has changed. It will be held earlier than

in previous years, on Thursday, 26 – Friday, 27 March and will be facilitated by the team from NET Ministries Australia.

This retreat is a compulsory and integral component of the formative education program provided at St Paul’s. It

provides the students with an opportunity to step back from their regular routines, to consider what is important in

their lives and how they can become the best version of themselves. Retreats such as these allow our students to

deepen their relationships as a year group in a fun, engaging environment away from the classroom.

Notes have gone home with the Year 10 students, and I would kindly ask families to ensure that the permission note

and deposit is returned to the College by the due date.

Have a great year and God bless!

Mr Dominic MacAndrews – Leader of Evangelisation

Welcome back to the 2020 academic year. A particularly warm welcome to all our new families and thank you

for choosing us to assist you in the holistic education of your child/ren. My role as the Leader of Pedagogy is to

look after the learning and the teaching that happens in our classrooms and hopefully beyond. Please do not

hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

The other day, my brother tagged me into a page on Facebook and I

thought I would share this with you. As our children grow up and become

teenagers it is not always easy to get a lot of information out of them about

how school is going. Asking the following questions might help you:

What made you smile today?

Who did you sit with at lunch?

If you could change one thing about today what would that be?

What was the hardest rule to follow today?

Tell me something you know today that you didn’t know yesterday?

Communication and collaboration with family, the child and the College should

enable the child to reach beyond what they think is possible.

Mrs Lesa Morrison – Leader of Pedagogy

Congratulations to all our HSC students from 2019 and best wishes for your future. Students, their families and the

teachers at St Paul’s should also be commended for the efforts you have made contributing to these results.

Academic Support As many of you may be aware, we have been running lunchtime academic support for

students for a number of years now. In the past, these lunchtime sessions have primarily been for students who

have not completed homework or assessment tasks. This year, academic support will also be available for

students who would like help or support with homework or assessment tasks or even for students who would just like

a quiet place to study at lunchtime.

Academic Support will run four times a week and will be supervised by the Subject Leader of Learning according

to the schedule below and all students, Years 7–12, are welcome to attend. Whilst each subject area will have a

Ms Catriona Martin – Acting Leader of Curriculum

Welcome back to a new year and congratulations to everyone for the wonderful way in which you collected your

textbooks recently.

Overdue books continue to trickle in, and we are grateful for that. Thousands of dollar’s worth of resources have

been recovered this way, and everyone is to thank for placing the necessary importance on such an undertaking.

Keep looking, because the next edition of “serious” letters will be going out shortly. And House Points will be

awarded to those with the best records.

It’s wonderful to see so many people using the Library before and after school, as well as at recess and lunch. It is

a vibrant, friendly place where students are making excellent use of the facility whether it be with books,

magazines, iPads, laptops or board games. Just a reminder about our iPad rules:

No volume

No social media or capturing images

No interaction between users or devices

No distracting those working, studying or reading actual books (like in the old days).

We are generally open from 8.15 to 4.30 Monday to Friday. It’s a good idea to check earlier in the day if you want

to stay back late. And if that’s not an option for some reason, The Hub, across the hall, can usually look after your

needs, especially on Wednesday afternoons. Mr Walker also dabbles in Maths that same day for those who’d like

a little consolidation.

Mrs Martin will generally be on deck on Monday and Thursday and Mrs Whalen will be in on Wednesdays.

Together, we can pretty well take care of your every need. All you have to do is ask.

Thanks to William Butler, Blair Kardell and Madalynne Farah-Halls who have volunteered to be Library Monitors this

year. Their help is very much appreciated. Anyone else interested just needs to make that known.

So hop onto Sora, or come borrow REAL books…and do not forget, Years 7, 8 and 9, that the

Premier’s Reading Challenge kicks off on Monday, March 2. Stay tuned.

Happy Reading! Mr Peter Garty – Teacher/Librarian

Homework Club will once again be operating every Wednesday afternoon from 3.25 until 4.25 in Student

Services. Students can complete homework or assignments with the support of a teacher and with access to

computers and reference books. The Library will also be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

afternoons until 4.30. All students are welcome and encouraged to make use of this valuable service. Those

students being picked up, should do so from the car park behind the Science block.

Please complete the form below and return to the Student Services Centre.

Mrs Kristy Carney – Additional Needs Teacher

The past couple of weeks we have been blessed with some timely rain. This has allowed us an opportunity to sow

some fodder crops amongst our pastures. These are all germinating nicely and it is hoped that we can cut some

silage in the coming weeks for the coming winter.

Digital Farmhand The Digital Farmhand (Robot) was delivered to the College from Sydney last week. The Robot

has been developed by Sydney University and is now being developed by Agerris, a Tech startup company.

Students in Year 10 Ag will be involved in learning

about the capabilities of the robot and also future

possibilities where robotics may be helpful in a range

of farming activities.

The Digital Farmhand is equipped with camera

technology and a weed sprayer. It is hoped that it

can be programmed to perform such tasks as weed

identification and control, as well as pasture

biomass determination. We were lucky enough to

be able to secure this robot for one term through

the efforts of Mr Lee Hancock, our Leader of

Innovation and Digital Learning.

The presence of this device has also provided an

opportunity to spark rigorous debate about a

number of issues. These include employment in the

future, as well as further creative opportunities to

employ digital technology to perform a variety of

tasks that may be laborious, and even potentially

dangerous, for humans.

Mr Graham Bramley – Leader of VET and Agriculture Teacher

Term 1 has started and as usual there are a number of ways students can be involved in both Diocesan and

College Sports. Our Year 7, 8 9 and 10 students have all received notes detailing their options during their

timetabled sports period. Please ensure you read through these notes with your children, as they contain some

important information about payment options for sport this year.

Our College Swimming Carnival is fast approaching and we have already held the long-course events in which

three records were broken. A full report detailing all records and results of the carnival will be available in the Week

5 Newsletter.
