    ACT1313 12Vd.c. Spike SupressorInduced AC (ElectromagneticInterference) is caused when Intrudercables come near mains or telephonewires. High induced AC voltagecauses random and intermittent falsealarms as well as systemmalfunctions.

    Very often, mains and other highvoltage cables are run next to alarmcircuits after the system has beeninstalled. Eliminating induced AC issimple by fitting a Spike Suppressoras standard in every control panel orPSU.

    The suppressor connects directlyacross the DC supply and to mainsearth, dumping induced AC noiseand clamping the DC voltage againstspikes.

    Focus Mains FilterThis unit combines both transientprotection and filter protection. Theunit is designed to be hard-wired intothe mains terminal block acrossneutral and earth. To obtain the bestperformance from the device, theleads should be kept as short as

TheACT 2468 will work on 12V and

    CSL Audio Verification UnitThe CS5000 Is a compact AVU designed to provideconfirmation of an unauthorised intruder presence. Thesystem comprises a small, low current control unit housed inthe same enclosure as the alarm panel. It has two independent microphone inputs with an auto-learn featurethat enables it to be easily connected to the majority ofcontrol panels.

    The unit also has clean changeover relay contacts to silencethe internal alarm siren whether recording or transmittingunauthorised sounds. Microphones are housed in a smallplastic case that can be surface or corner mounted andeach has a two-wire connection designed to operate overlong lengths of standard alarm cable without suffering frominterference.

    Contacts (Magnetic) Contacts offer a simple means of protecting doors, windows and roller shutters. The principle of operation is that oneelement, (usually fixed to the non-moving section), contains a small switch encapsulated in a glass bottle, (called amagnetic reed), and the other elements contain a magnet.

    When the magnet is held within the operating gap of the magnetic reed, the switch is held closed and the circuit made. If themagnet is moved outside the operating gap parameters, the circuit opens and an alarm is generated. Tyco Safety Productsstock a wide variety of contact to suit most applications.

    EN50131 -2-6 Opening Contacts (Magnetic) Changes are necessary due to the new EN standardsimplementation of, Draft prEN 50131-2-6 Alarm systems -Intrusion and hold-up systems Part 2-6: Opening contacts(magnetic) that came into force back in April 2007, but thiswas not adhered too due to their being a lack of differenttypes available and their reliability.

    Major Change to grade 34.5.4 Magnetic field interferenceWhen the detector is mounted in accordance with themanufacturer's instructions and is subject to the presence ofan external magnetic field generated by the interference ofan external magnet and applied to the faces of the detector,the detector shall either:

    A) Be immune to any influence by the interference of themagnet and continue to operate normally.

    B) Generate an intrusion, and/or tamper, and/or fault, and/orother independent signal or message in accordance withthe standard when the make or break distances exceedtwice those specified.

    Hoyles ExitguardThis new EXITGUARD uses a nine digit keypad for bothcontrol and programming. The tone of the high powerintegral alarm can be selected to distinguish it from otheralarms. The alarm can be silenced and reset using a fourdigit code or the EXITGUARD can re-arm automatically aftera preset delay once the door has been closed. SeparateDoor Open Too Long (DOTL) delays can be set for CodeReset and Auto Reset modes. There is also a Bleep In Offoption and Chime facility. There are a number of differentmodels to suit various applications:

    EX204 is battery powered for use where a separate supplyof power is not available and the protected door is openedinfrequently or there is no requirement to sound the integralsounder for long periods. If necessary the integral batterycan be dispensed with and a separate 12vdc supplyprovided. This version has a logic output signal forconnection to a MULTIGUARD indicator.

    EX205 is 12vdc powered for use where the protected doormay be opened frequently or the integral sounder may needto sound for long periods. This version can also be used asequipment.

    There is a logic output signal for connection to aMULTIGUARD and there are volt free relay contacts forseparately signalling ON/OFF status and alarm conditions atremote points. This version cannot be powered frombatteries. EX206 is 230vac mains powered where theprotected door may be opened frequently or the soundermay need to sound for long periods. There is a logic outputsignal for connection to a MULTIGUARD and a volt free relaycontact for alarm condition.

    This version is also supplied with 6 x AA alkaline batteries forstandby - Note: the batteries will not power the alarm relay.All are supplied with a surface mounting door contact, fixingscrews and a door warning label.

    Fire Door CheckerThis unique feature enables the EXITGUARD to be used to verify that all emergency fire exit doors are available foruse when a building is occupied. Simply wire a switchedsignal from the intruder alarm control of the building to eachEXITGUARD. As soon as the alarm is switched off when thebuilding is opened staff are forced to visit each fire door inturn and release the door to ensure that it is ready foremergency use. The normal EXITGUARD functions are thenautomatically restored to give protection against un-authorised exit.

    Whenever the alarm is switched off or when the time clockremoves the signal, the EXITGUARD will emit a doublebleep every 90 seconds and the LEDs will strobe. Staff mustvisit each fire door in turn and release the door to ensurethat it is ready for emergency use.

    The normal EXITGUARD functions are then automaticallyrestored to give protection against un-authorised exit. Toconserve battery life it is recommended that theEXITGUARD is centrally powered as shown below.

    Multiguard Disabled Toilet Alarm SystemThe AA31110D MULTIGUARD is a six zone disabled toilet alarm system for larger buildings that need centralindication of the origin of the call. It is designed to give dualre-assurance indication at the point of operation.

    OperationWhen a pull cord (S1600) is operated its LED flashes and alocal buzzer (S/1678) sounds to inform the caller that the callhas been transmitted. When the call is silenced at the panelthe flashing LED becomes steady and the local buzzersilences to inform the caller that the call has been receivedand help is on the way.

    If the caller pulls the cord again the LED on the pull cord willflash and the local buzzer sounds again. When help doesarrive the call is reset using the local (S/1608) reset button.All LEDs and buzzers, flashing or steady, are extinguished.An integral PSU and battery are included in the AA31110DMultiguard.

    Technical SpecificationMG212000 & MG212100 General purpose annunciators.These Multiguards are the basic versions used for generalpurpose monitoring where zone isolation is not required.The MG212100 is fitted with an integral 12v 250ma PSU andstandby rechargeable battery.     When an alarm condition is detected an audible warning isgiven by the integral piezo sounder, the relevant zone LEDflashes, and a global relay energises to provide volt freeDPCO contacts for signalling to other equipment.

    By pressing F1 the sounder is SILENCED, the alarmcondition is accepted, the global relay restores to normaland the LED flashes more slowly.

    When the cause of the alarm condition has beeninvestigated and cleared F2 can be pressed to RESET thevisual indication. If a subsequent alarm condition occursbefore earlier ones are cleared then all prior indications aretemporarily suppressed in order to emphasise the latestevent.

    MG216000, MG216010 & MG216110 Annunciators withZone Isolate facilities. These are specified where zoneisolation facilities are required.

    The operation is similar to the basic units. However, they arefitted with six zone buttons Z1 - Z6 and, in the case of theMG216010 & MG216110, a keyswitch. An alarm condition isgiven in the same way as outlined above. In order toSILENCE the alarm condition the relevant zone button ispressed. When the cause of the alarm condition has beencleared the zone button is pressed again to RESET theindication. The zone buttons also have two further facilities,a. to act as ISOLATE switches and b. to facilitate LAMPTEST. Turning the keyswitch enables zone isolate. Pressinga zone button illuminates an LED to indicate that the zone isISOLATED. Pressing the button again reinstates the zone.Pressing any two zone buttons simultaneously tests each ofthe LEDs in turn. If more than six zones are needed then anumber of units would be stacked together. The primary unitwould probably be an MG216110 which would support upto 3 secondary units to expand the system capacity to 24zones. These secondary units could be MG216000 versionswhich would use the keyswitch and power supply of theprimary unit.

    Hoyles MultiguardsThe MULTIGUARD 2000-6 is a general purpose six zone annunciator. The enclosure design is such that virtually anysystem size can be met by stacking units together.

    To cater for the many different requirements of the emergency alarm market the Multiguard is supplied in a number ofdifferent guises, each of which offers a remarkable degree of flexibility.

    MG222000, MG226000 Repeaters.It is often necessary to repeat indications at remotelocations. Each Multiguard master is equipped with a serialoutput to enable data to be sent to a number of repeaterssimultaneously. Each Multiguard master with an integralpower supply can support up to three repeaters. If morethan three repeat locations are needed then an externalpower supply should be used at the master. Because data issent out serially to the repeaters a reduced number of cablecores are needed. If indication only is requiredwith no control functions then a five core cable will suffice(an extra 3 cores are needed for each block of six zones) Ifcontrol functions are used then extra cores will be required,(consult our technical department for details).

    Multiguard repeaters are identical in appearance and userfunctions to master units. Repeaters can be fitted withkeyswitches in the same way as master units for isolation orother purposes.

    MULTIGUARD OptionsA keyswitch MG000010 can be added to any Multiguard notalready fitted with one. The keyswitch is a two position withdouble pole changeover contacts. If a keyswitch is used forisolation purposes then only the second pole is available foran alternative use. This is obviously restricted to functionsthat are coincidental with isolation. Two interface cards areavailable to enable Multiguard annunciators to drive externalequipment. The MG020000 uses serial data from a masterunit to provide up to 16 outputs capable of switching up to500ma per zone (subject to psu limit). Six outputs follow theannunciator LEDs. Six further outputs switch on alarmcondition and restore on reset. Two outputs follow theintegral sounder and global relay. Two outputs are notnominated.

    These cards will fit into the Multiguard back box as shown.Dimensions 135 x 67 x 15 (mm).

    The MG030000 takes the serial data from a master unit toprovide six relay outputs with voltage free DPCO contacts(1A/30vdc resistive). The activation of these relay outputs isdependant upon the software configuration of the masterunit. These cards are often used to interface with CCTVmultiplexers. The cards must be housed separately. Powerrequirement 12vdc 70ma. Dimensions 142 x 110 x 15 (mm)MG311000 Nurse Call annunciators.

    The principle of operation is similar to the Multiguardgeneral purpose annunciators. There is a SILENCE buttonF1 but no reset button or isolate facilities are fitted. Integralpower supplies are NOT usually fitted to these versions asextra power is needed for call points and overdoor lights etc.

    The control logic is non-latching. When a call is made anaudible warning is given by an integral piezo sounder andthe relevant zone LED flashes. The sounder can be silencedat the panel but must be reset at the call point.

    Nurse call annunciators have facilities for Late Attendanceindication. When a late attendance condition is generatedthe Multiguard emits an interrupted pulsed toneaccompanied by an interrupted flashing LED for the relevantzone. Similar but continuous pulsed signals are used forEmergency Re-call. Signals are graded - late attendancetakes priority over standard calls and emergency re-call takepriority over late attendance.

    Manual and Electronic Call Points can be used on the same installation. However, late attendance and emergencyre-call are only possible with electronic call points.

    Nurse Call Items.S1600P is a manual latching call point with jumbo re-assurance LED. Pressing the button generates the call,pressing again resets it. The latching button can also beused to illuminate and overdoor indicator (see below). It designed for either surface or flush mounting on a standard single gang electrical box.

    The S1663P is an advanced electronic call point capable ofstandard and emergency re-call. It is also generates a lateattendance signal. Calls are also reset at these points.

    PillowPushes or Ceiling Pull-Cords may be connected toElectronic Call Points. When a call is generated a lateattendance timer is activated. If the call is not attended toand reset within a predetermined period (adjustable oninstallation at each call point between 30 seconds and 2/minutes) a late attendance alarm is generated at the panel.An emergency re-call can be generated at any time bypressing both the reassurance LED and the re-callbutton simultaneously at the call point. An output is availablefrom the call point for overdoor or corridor indicators.S1636RP is an overdoor or corridor indicator.

    When used in a Multiguard nurse call system it derives itspower from either a manual or electronic call point. It isdesigned for either surface or flush mounting on a standardsingle gang electrical box.

    EXITGUARD Self contained door alarm The EXITGUARD isthe ideal solution for the security of fire exit doors. Not onlyin nursing and residential homes but also in supermarkets,hotels, restaurants, warehouses, leisure centres and otherpublic buildings. It satisfies the requirements of both fire andsecurity officers. A number of versions are available andthey can be linked back to Multiguard annunciators.     Honeywell FG-1625ZThe FG-1025Z performance is achieved through the use of 2microphones and Time-of-Arrival (TOA) processing. When asound is generated in the room, the microphone nearest thesound will hear it first. The Micro-controller in the unitmonitors all sound events received by the microphones andprocesses only those received first at the front microphone,which is pointed toward the protected zone.
