We wanted to inform you, SRC has funding available from the Denver Regional Council of Governments as well as new funding available from the Colorado Respite Coalition. If you’d like to request grant funding, you will need to request to be put on the waiting list. You can do this by contacting Lacey Hayden, 303.235.6950 or [email protected].
If grant funding is awarded, you will receive an allotment letter. This will outline the details of the allotment. It is required that you sign and return the allotment letter as soon as possible to SRC
Adult Day & Respite Program. Your grant funding will not start until we have received your signed copy in our office. Each of the grants have some paperwork associated with them that you will be required to complete prior to using the funding. You may purchase private pay visits to be interspersed with your allotted visits to allow your allotted visits to go further. Private pay will resume after all grant visits are used. SRC is pleased to be able to provide this support to you. Please contact Lacey Hayden with any questions regarding this process.

Volunteer to support the Adult Day and Respite Program in Wheat Ridge by assisting with activities, interacting with participants, and helping to serve meals and snacks to older adults living with memory loss. Can you play the guitar? Do you love to sing? Do you enjoy entertaining?
Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC) is currently seeking friendly, enthusiastic, musically minded people who are willing to play 30-60 minutes of music and sing age-appropriate songs to our participants. Entertainment is held between the hours of 10:00-11:30am and 1:30-3:00pm M-F. Experience with playing and performing music is preferred but is not required.
If that does not peak your interest, we are also seeking volunteers to be table hosts during lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm. SRC offers a large range of activities for seniors to do during the day, from aromatherapy, to gardening, writing life stories, arts/crafts, choir, Veterans Group, and even outings to nearby attractions. We are always searching for a helping hand with daily programming.
If you are interested in volunteering with any of these activities, please reach out to Alexis, Senior Activity Coordinator (303.235.6960 or [email protected]) or Lacey, Site Supervisor (303.235.6950 or [email protected])
Winter is Still Here
As you know, the winter weather is still here. Please read the following tips and advisories for SRC this winter season.
- Sometimes the weather may be too bad for SRC to open. Check our Closure line at 303.235.6916 to make sure we are open on those classic Colorado weather days.
- The cold weather tends to bring germs with it. If your loved one has an illness that is or may be contagious, please keep them home, so as not to expose other medically frail individuals at the program.
- Please make sure all winter essentials like coats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats have the participant’s names on the inside.
