An individual ability to read, write, and speak in English, and compute

and solve problems at levels of proficiency necessary to function on

the job and in society to achieve one’s goals and develop one’s knowledge and

potential

CAUSES OF ADULT LITERACY

Many factors can contribute to adult literacy

Parents with little education (which may contribute in a multiple of ways)

Emphasis of the importance of reading

Doing badly many have not completed high school;

Difficult living conditions, including poverty;

Learning disabilities, such as ADHD, narcolepsy, dyslexia, etc.

Require the persistence efforts of individuals, communities, and government to resolve adult

literacy.

Essential tools are needed from equipment to tutors along with personal develop enables

positive results regarding Adult literacy.

A collaborative, learner-centered approach to literacy instruction for teens and adults.

The importance of a learner-centered, collaborative approach to teaching.

Provides a focused on the power of literacy to improve the lives of adults and their

families, communities and societies.

Describes local and national organizations to help adults gain the reading, writing, math,

technological, and English skills needed to be successful in todays’ society.

Design a website for TLC that attracts volunteers, new clients and sponsors. Acquire more information about Adult literacy and the effects it has on individuals and societies.

Reflection

• I learned a great deal about Adult literacy and its effects globally.

• I utilized programming langauges (JAVA & HMTL5) to design website. While include newer Social Media application.

• This will be an ongoing effort for attracting individual in local and surrounding areas.

• Capstone did not go according to plan. (unforeseen circumstances)
