DJ Console MK2 needs a full-powered bus. - Mixing of analog inputs together with computer audio - Play video files (in a window). 11 – Can I connect any analog source to DJ Console MK2? a) Phono in DJ Console MK2 phono inputs are made for DJ turntables: as the level depends on the cartridge, you need DJ or club cartridges... We recommend cartridges with a strong output level, such as Shure M44-7 (output level is 9.5mV), Ortofon Concord Q.Bert (11 mV), Ortofon OM Q.Bert (11mV). Lower level cartridges are useable, up to 6 mV output level. Magnetic cartridges can also be used with DJ Console MK2, but their level (4-5mV) is low for DJ Console MK2. Moving Coil cartridges normally require a specific amplifier, and in general they are not made for DJing. In general, if you connect a phono turntable, you may also set the volume on an external mixer (if you have a DJ turntable, you should have a DJ mixer), so you can set the gain of your phono cartridge on the external mixer.

b) Line in DJ Console MK2 line inputs are for consumer audio devices (-10 dBu), so you can connect CD players, MP3 players, but you cannot connect devices with professional output level (+4dBv). You must switch professional devices to consumer level output. In general, if you connect a phono turntable, you may also set the volume on an external mixer (since if you have a DJ turntable, you probably have a DJ mixer), so you can add the gain specific to your phono cartridge on the external mixer.

c) Microphone You only need a microphone with a 6.35mm (¼”) jack plug, so any microphone with this kind plug is useable; for microphones with a 3.5mm (mini-jack / 1/8” ) plug, an adapter to plug in the larger jack 6.35mm plug is included.
