Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed is a sophomore at Harvard College, concentrating in computer science. Mohamed is interested in data analytics and is president of the Harvard College Somali Student Association. He is also an avid music listener and is a member of CrimsonEMS at the College. James Bedford James Bedford is a senior at Harvard College studying stem cell and regenerative biology with a focus on education. James is a first-generation, international, low- income college student who lives on a 44’ sailing boat in England when he’s not busy at Harvard. James is the chair of the FYRE program, advisor of the Roosevelt Foundation, a researcher in the Eggan Stem Cell Lab, and spends most of his time on peer-advising, thinking about education or sociology over a coffee, photo and video production, hip-hop dancing, or designing his upcoming Fall class in Science Communication. Grace Eysenbach

Grace Eysenbach is a senior at Harvard College, concentrating in electrical engineering with a secondary in education studies. Grace is passionate about K-12 education and spent the last two summers teaching in Vietnam and Uganda. On campus, Grace is involved with the Society of Women Engineers, the Ed Portal in Allston, and is a member of the Women’s Heavyweight Crew team.

Joseph Felkers

Joseph Felkers is a sophomore studying English and linguistics at Harvard College. He is interested in theoretical sociolinguistics, and the role it plays in ethical, marketable, and sustainable social impact. He is also passionate about lyric and confessional poetry, composing himself, and avidly reading contemporary collections. Outside of the classroom, he is a corporate designer on the internal marketing team for Harvard Student Agencies. Joseph is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, loves long walks into Boston, and is always receptive to new cafe suggestions (and is happy to provide them, too).

Braeden Foldenauer

Braeden Foldenauer is a junior at Harvard College, studying government and education. Braeden is from Mississippi and is interested in education policy and school leadership. Outside of class, he serves as vice president of Primus (the fi rst-gen/low-income student union), as a voting member on the Honor Council, as a fi rst-generation program coordinator for the Offi ce of Admissions and Financial Aid, and is involved with political and cultural groups on campus. In his spare time, Braeden enjoys weightlifting, playing chess, and gushing about his home state.

Shavonna Jackson

Shavonna Jackson is a sophomore at Harvard College studying integrative biology and African and African American studies with hopes to go into a career in biotechnology or computational biology. She enjoys photography, design, and spoken word poetry. On campus, she serves as the current co-mentorship chair for the Harvard Society of Black Scientists and Engineers. Shavonna is also passionate about diversity and spent her last winter break as a hometown recruiter for communities similar to her own which often feel discouraged when applying to Harvard.

Laura Jenny

Laura Jenny is a junior at Harvard College, concentrating in integrative biology with a secondary in global health and health policy. Laura is interested in juvenile justice, foster care reform and other youth issues. She is co-founder of the organization PLAY, which advocates, educates and provides resources for youth who deal with trauma and the juvenile justice system. Laura is a Cheng Fellow with the Social Innovation and Change Initiative, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s 2016 Massachusetts Youth of the Year, and a case manager for Y2Y, a student run homeless shelter that serves youth.

Haeyun Lee

Haeyun Lee is a junior at Harvard College, concentrating in neuroscience on the computational track. Haeyun is interested in serving the fi rst-generation community and is the professional development chair of Primus, (originally called the Harvard First-Generation Student Union), as well as a steering committee member for Harvard’s newest pre-orientation program, FYRE (First-Year Retreat and Experience). Haeyun is an avid pianist and takes jazz lessons at Berklee College of Music under Professor Laszlo Gardony. She also spends a lot of time at Newell Boathouse, as a coxswain of the Men’s Heavyweight Crew team. Her main hobby is learning new languages.

Jada Lee

Hailing from Minnesota, Jada Lee is a junior at Harvard College concentrating in anthropology. She is passionate about technology and business and was the 2019 managing director at DEV, the website/app branch of Harvard Student Agencies. Jada enjoys classical music, nature walks, and jogging in her free time.

Diego Navarrete

Diego Navarrete is a junior at Harvard College studying government. Born in Mexico, Diego has been a life-long advocate for immigrant rights. He currently serves as co-director for Act on a Dream, a Harvard student organization advocating for undocumented students and immigrant rights. Diego is also passionate about addressing social issues at the local level, having interned with the mayor of Detroit and for the United States Conference of Mayors. Diego has been recognized twice by the Harvard Foundation for Inter-cultural and Race Relations for his work with the Latinx community to increase racial equity on campus.

Memie Osuga

Memie is an animator, and senior at Harvard College concentrating in art, fi lm, and visual studies. She works mainly across 3D and visual effects softwares, creating character-driven shorts exploring themes of belonging, family, and hope. She loves creating visual content, and also composes fi lm tracks on the side for fun. Memie grew up as a hardcore science piano-playing kid (her parents are both piano teachers) doing Taekwondo on the side with a love for the imaginary and is now passionately working to indulge and expand the imaginations of people everywhere through her animation.

Zeel Patel

Zeel Patel is a sophomore at Harvard College studying computer science and neuroscience, while concurrently pursuing his master’s in statistics. Hailing from Canada and originally born in India, Zeel comes from a life sciences background where he developed a novel diagnostic device for heart disease while researching at his local university—the patent for which he had acquired by a pharmaceutical company when he was 17. On campus, Zeel spends his time exploring innovative technologies and startups, organizing international science conferences to invite interesting people to campus, and traveling the world to immerse himself in different perspectives. Zeel is also a passionate Toronto Raptors fan!

Bridgette Ramirez

Bridgette Ramirez is a sophomore at Harvard College interested in human developmental and regenerative biology and pursuing the pre-med track. As a fi rst-generation Latinx student, she is involved with Primus, the fi rst-generation group on campus, and various cultural groups. She also loves playing the violin and is a member of the Mariachi Veritas de Harvard. In her free time, she enjoys learning about her Catholic faith and exercising.

Brian Seo

Brian Hyun Seo is a sophomore at Harvard College, concentrating in economics. Brian is interested in automation and AI. On campus, Brian is an analyst for the MIR Investment Association, a member of the Harvard College Deans’ Student Advisory Board, and a member of the Men’s Lightweight Crew team.

Najya Williams

Najya Williams is a senior at Harvard College, born and raised in Washington, D.C., studying sociology as a pre-med student. She aims to pursue a career in pediatric and neonatal medicine. A youth advocate and champion for justice, Najya has participated in numerous poetry and spoken word events to shed light on issues in her community that many consider taboo. Her work can be found on several platforms at the intersection of race and wellness, including Black Youth Project, Black Girl in Om, and Healing Points. She was recognized by the Harvard Foundation for her work within the black community on Harvard’s campus, and looks ahead to continue making a difference in not only her community, but the nation as a whole, one word at a time. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing, trying new foods and sneaking in a midday nap!
