These high masts are difficult to maintain, expensive to run andare often located in busy areas such as round-abouts, tolls,bridges and inner city flyovers. The plug and play features provide for safe mounting, maintenance and demounting, whilst the adjustable bracket allows for multiple arrangements on all types of heads and crowns. All our luminaires are supplied with an IP68 quick plug,avoiding the need for rewiring the lighting system.

Gatwick Airport has achieved over 50% of energy savings byswitching from traditional sodium projectors to Midstream LEDs.

Glasgow AirportGlasgow Airport was keen to upgrade their apron lightingto LED before the start of the 2014 CommonwealthGames in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. The airport utilised 236 apron floodlights with a mixture of 400W HPS and 1,000w HPS projectors. The Midstreamsolutions replaced these with 164 LED projectors, eachbeing 400w.The project achieved energy savings of 61% with a 100%increase in lux levels.

Gatwick AirportGatwick Airport is the busiest single runway airport in theworld, and as such has been pursuing a programme ofstand reconfiguration and pier extensions to improve thenumber of aircraft movements, which involves upgradingthe stand lighting to LEDs to achieve energy efficiency and improved lighting uniformity values. Midstream is the preferred supplier to Gatwick Airport forLED apron floodlighting since 2013.

Glasgow Airport finished the complete upgrade program in 3months, achieving a saving of 106 kW and doubling light levels.

ProjectsRome Fiumicino AirportMidstream was successful in a tender to supply new LEDapron floodlighting at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Under the first phase, Midstream's floodlights were used onsix new 30m masts to achieve 36 lux av light levels and 0.5uniformity. The smart floodlights are DALI enabled, meaningthey easily integrate into existing controls software.

Midstream was successful in a tender to supply new LED apron floodlighting at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Network Rail has more than doubled the light levels at a train depot

Ramsgate Railway DepotRamsgate Maintenance Depot in England needed toupgrade the lighting system which had become obsolete. Network Rail decided to use LED technology on theexisting large area lighting masts and poles. Midstream was chosen to act as Main Contractor to design,supply, install and commission the new system. Midstream was able to deliver a project which reducedenergy consumption by 50% and double the lux levels.

ProjectsPort of Tyne, UKMidstream acted as main contractor to design, deliver, installand commission a new lighting scheme at the Port of Tyne,including two new 30m high masts and refurbishment of a35m high mast under a turn-key contract. Midstream selected a reputable high mast supplier and civilscontractor to deliver the works against a lighting schemedesign specified by the Port to be 60 lux.

A new 30m mast being installed at the Port of Tyne New lighting improved visibility for the operators and reduced the site energy cost.

Industrial Logistics CentreThe fuel storage facility operated by ASIG at Gatwick Airportwas looking to improve visibility for the operators and driversat the same time as reducing costs associated with the energyand maintenance of the the conventional sodium system.Midstream provided a solution using the single module Titan160 LED projector reducing the site energy consumption bymore than 60% and greatly increasing light levels anduniformity.

ProjectsReading Council Reading Borough Council had completed a switch to LEDson all the street lighting, however was unable to find aviable product for the existing 30m high masts. Midstream was selected to provide the technology toretrofit all existing high masts in Reading with LEDfloodlights, which had to integrate into the city-wideMayflower CMS control system.

Reading Borough Council retrofitted new Midstream LED projectors on existing30m masts with full integration to the Mayflower CMS control system

British Land achieved over 65% energy savings and increase in lux levels.

Bradford Shopping CentreThis Retail park in Bradford, England is owned by British Land. The existing sodium luminaires were old and requiringreplacement. British Land chose LED floodlights fromMidstream to deliver a uniform white light and significantenergy savings. Midstream continues to work with British Land assets, andremains a supplier of choice for high mast lighting.
