Welcome from our

Dear Community Members,

At the Partnership for Better Health, we are working hard to ensure that everyone has what they need for good health. Since our founding in 2001 from the sale of the Carlisle Hospital, we have made more than $36 million in grants to organizations throughout the region. The scal health of our organization is strong, as we embrace the opportunity to serve our communities in perpetuity.

This year, we launched a dynamic new strategic plan that calls for greater collaboration among our community partners to develop more effective, innovative solutions to tough social problems.Informed by feedback from local surveys and interviews, the plan pushes beyond traditional healthstrategies to address the root issues of poor health for our most vulnerable residents.

Recognizing the opioid epidemic as the worst drug crisis in our community’s history, we have formed a new task force on opioid prescribing to increase access to high quality addiction treatment and prevention services. Amidst a chronic shortage of affordable housing, we are also teaming up with area housing organizations to strengthen the capacity and responsiveness of local housing systems. Additionally, we made a new grant to Hamilton Health Center for their community health center in Perry County, and we continue to provide signicant funding to Sadler Health Center.

With these examples as highlights, we encourage you to explore the more than 50 outstanding programs listed herein. Our blend of strategies includes grant making, policy advocacy, nonprot capacity building and public education on key health issues.

We remain grateful to the many organizations and individuals who are striving to make our communities among the healthiest in the nation. As a health foundation, local volunteers guide all that we do. Through transparent public reporting and engagement, we take pride in our accountability to the community.

Our door is always open and we welcome hearing from you.

Chairperson and Executive Director

reporting, we take pride in our accountability to the community.
