Advancing Muslim American Health Priorities [A-MAP] CONFERENCE ON The Initiative on Islam and Medicine at the University of Chicago, UMMA Community Clinic, Whitestone Foundation, and Worry Free Community would like to share a special opportunity for you to promote Muslim-focused health outcomes research. The E-MARCH Project is a community health research project that takes aim at ameliorating healthcare disparities in the Muslim American Community, and is led by Dr. Aasim Padela, Director of Program on Medicine and Religion at the University of Chicago (IL). Other collaborators on the project are UMMA Community Clinic (CA), Whitestone Foundation (MI), and Worry Free Community (IL). E-MARCH BACKGROUND As part of the Engaging Muslim Activists for Research on Community Health (E-MARCH) Project objectives, UMMA Community Clinic of Los Angeles, CA, hosted a 2 day-workshop for the E-MARCH cohort members, followed by a Town Hall with the local community to increase awareness of community health research and to discuss how to conduct Patient Centered Community Research (PCOR)

funders, and other stakeholders to discuss PCOR approaches to combating Muslim American health disparities. It will create a platform for stakeholders to discuss Muslim community health problems and dynamics as well as sol-utions using patient-centered methods in a faith community setting. To achieve this aim, the conference will feature panel presentations by organizations who fund work in this arena, oral, and poster presentations of current and proposed projects, and round table discussions on how to best address health priorities from a patient-centered approach.

CONFERENCE ORIGINSA cohort of scholars, involving religious leaders, community health and social service workers, researchers, physicians, and patients, has been actively partic-ipating in an 18-month program to identify top Muslim health priorities and to set the agenda for Muslim-focused patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR). The culmination of this work is A-MAP, at whichwe will be exploring the religious dimensions of mental, reproductive, and sexual health.This conference will bring together the E-MARCH cohort, clinicians, researchers,religious leaders, social service providers,
