Adventure Design Application Thank you for your interest in applying to be added to the approved designer list for future D&D Adventurers League adventure content. In order to be considered, you’ll need to email back the following information to your point-of-contact. Your contact information, to include your name, address, phone number, and email A list of your previous adventure and game design credits A one-two page example of your past design work (preferably Dungeons & Dragons if possible) Our Ideal Candidates Ideal adventure design candidates to be added to our approved designer list possess the following traits. Responsive and communicative Meets deadlines Attention to detail and ability to follow adventure templates/styles Flexible to critical analysis and editing Possesses a keen eye towards grammar and clarity in writing Does not overwrite Allows adventures to create opportunities for memorable shared storytelling Understands the organized play audience Next Steps After you complete the design test and send the information listed above to your point-of-contact, you will be notified within 2-4 weeks of your submission if you have been added to the approved designers list. We will set you up within Wizards of the Coast’s vendor system, and give you additional adventure design documents for you to reference. You may not receive an adventure assignment for a while, as we have a rotation schedule, but if you’ve been approved, you should receive an assignment for a future storyline.

D&D Adventurers League Adventure Design ProjectsAfter assigned an adventure design project, a designer receives the following.An additional design guide specific to the storyline seasonA contract for work (Wizards pays for and owns the rights to the content)A concept containing the adventure name, target level, adventure description, and any special requirementsA scheduleAdventure designers then complete a short outline of their adventure and submit it back for approval.Once an adventure designers outline is approved, the designer has approximately six weeks for adventure design. After that time, the adventure is submitted, the designer invoices for payment, and the adventure is developed, playtested, edited, and published. Adventure Design TestThank you for your interest in designing adventures for the D&D Adventurers League official organized play system. In order for us to consider you as a potential designer for future adventures, please complete this adventure design test and send it back to your point-of-contact. What Youll NeedIn order to take the test, youll need the following.Dungeon Masters Guide (in particular, review part 2 and chapters 3-5 for this test)Monster Manual or D&D DMs basic rules PDF (version 0.3 or later) Adventure template in Word (provided by your point-of-contact)The TestSend back to your point-of-contact two different scenes or encounters each designed for five 3rd-level characters using all of the following design elements between both of them. You do not need to use all of the elements listed for each scene or encounter, but you may reuse elements for either one. Each scene or encounter should be a maximum of one page. You do not have to include stat blocks for the monsters. One scene should emphasize exploration or social interaction (your choice) and the other should emphasize combat.
