This Suspenseful Instrumental Piece called “Heart of Courage” by Two Steps From Hell, sets the stage for a great and epic story. Full of fast-paced action and slower parts to build a clearer picture. It easily plays out a glimpse of Odysseus's adventures. Picturing Odysseus settling down amongst a group of people and sharing a story like no other. A story that will grip the listener and intrigue any man who dare listen. As Odysseus describes settings, characters, and plots, the slower paced and suspenseful music will aid in the overall feel. The more fast-paced sections will harness the full effect of fighting, battle scenes, and terrible tragedies. An instrumental like this, one that is emotional and stunning, is perfect for describing and aiding the feel of great storytelling. That is exactly what Odysseus did.

The song “You give love a bad name” describes the troubles between a guy and a girl who is apparently deceiving or toying with the guy’s emotions. Calypso is playing a game with Odysseus (“I play my part, and you play your game”) and this is placing temptation in front of Odysseus so he will no longer long for his wife, (“you give love a bad name”). Calypso deceives Odysseus and charms him (“an angel’s smile is what you sell; You promised me heaven then put me through hell”) and Odysseus falls for it. He stays there trapped with the goddess and plays “Scrabble” (“Passions a prison, you can't break free”).

Odysseus then finally realises his terrible deed and tells Calypso that he “longs to see home again” (careful not to upset her). He feels as though he has cheated on his wife (“oh, oh you’re a loaded gun; oh, oh, theres nowhere to run; no one can save you; the damage is done.”) This is seen as wrong to him and causes sadness and regret, Odysseus sees Calypso as a causing agent and must leave soon (“shot to the heart; and you’re to blame; you give love a bad name”).

The Song “All the right moves” by OneRepublic depicts the audacity and suspenseful nature of the Death at the Palace episode. Odysseus and Telemachus plan out how they are going to kill the suitors (“All the friends in all the right places”) and they execute the plan using tactics such as disarming. They take the weapons of the suitors so that they have the upper hand (“All the right moves and all the right faces”). Odysseus is trying to please Penelope and put on a show in front of her to dazzle her (“Do you think im special, do you think im nice; am i bright enough to shine in your spaces”) but he is in competition with the other suitors (“between the noise you hear; and the sounds you like we’re just sinking in an ocean of faces”). Odysseus and Telemachus then execute the fight (“So yea we’re going down”). Odysseus wins and attracts Penelope killing all of the suitors (“I'll be the king of hearts, and you’re the queen of spades”).

“The Beggar and the Faithful Dog”“The Beggar and the

Faithful Dog” scene is about how Odysseus comes home as a beggar and is meeted by his dog, and his dog is the only one who recognizes him. In the song “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift, it relates to parts of this because in one part of the song, it goes “Did you think we’d be fine? Still got scars on my back” can talk about how after all of this time when Odysseus finally comes back, his loyal dog dies. The dog still had scars from when Odysseus left him and when he got back, they only got to be together for a short amount of time. In the

part of the song where it says “Did you have to ruin what was shining? Now it’s all rusted,” can apply to the dog because Odysseus was nice to Argos and Argos was loyal to Odysseus but then when the dog is old he is rusted down. “You know it used to be mad love, so take a look at what you’ve done,” relates to this scene because Argos was such a great dog to Odysseus but then Odysseus had to leave him for twenty years and now since Odysseus had been gone for so long, Argos dying was the outcome of him leaving for so long.

“The Meeting of the Father and Son Analysis”

The song “Everything’s Changed” by Taylor Swift, relates to the episode where the son and father meet because in this song it talks about meeting someone for the first time. This is what happened with Odysseus, they finally met to where his son could remember and know what his father looked like. In the part of the song where it goes “Cause all I know is we said hello, your eyes looking like coming home, all I know is a simple thing, everythings changed,” relates to the father and son meeting because the son doesn’t know how to recognize his father because Odysseus was at war for so long. When it says “I just wanna know you better,” you can imagine that when Telemachus realizes that the beggar is his father, he wants to know why. When Taylor Swift’s song says

“Come back and tell me why, I’m feeling like I’ve missed you all this time,” it is relating to both Odysseus and Telemachus because in the first part of the “Odyssey,” the only thing Odysseus wanted to do was get home; even though they both plot to kill all of the suitors, they were still missing each other. The whole song was talking about how everything had changed. Over the long time span that Odysseus was away, fighting the Trojan War and the time trying to get back, a lot had changed, including Odysseus and Telemachus.

Odysseus and PenelopeThis episode is about how Penelope isn't sure if Odysseus has

really returned. She tests him by telling him to move the bed, because only Odysseus would know the bed can't be moved. At the end of the episode she realizes that it really is her husband and the are able to live happily again. The song Love is an Open door fits this episode because at the beginning of the song they had just met and by the end they are engaged. In the episode it is kinda like they just met in the beginning to because Penelope isn't sure if it is Odysseus but by the end they are happily together. When the song says “say goodbye, say goodbye, to the pain of the past we don't have to feel it anymore” relates to the episode because now that Odysseus is back they don't have to deal with the pain of being without each other. The mood set by both the song and the episode is a very happy one. “Of longing mounted, and he wept at last, his dear wife clear and faithful, in his arms, longed for” shows just how happy Odysseus was. “In joy, in joy, knowing the abyss behind: and so she too rejoiced , he gaze upon her husband” shows just how happy Penelope was to be with her husband. The song shows emotion just like the episode “with you, with you, with you, with you” this tells us how happy Anna and Hans are being together just like Odysseus and Penelope.

“Laestrygonians” Analysis

The instrumental “300 Violins Orchestra” by Jorge Quintero relates to the Laestrygonians because it has the intensity that this part of the epic has. The Laestrygonians is about cannibals; people eating people. This instrumental has the build up just like this part of the epic. The mood that “300 Violins Orchestra” sets is like a what’s happening next mood. It describes the Laestrygonians. Since people are getting eaten in this episode, the music goes up and down, it has the intro at the beginning and then it goes into it and you feel like something is going to happen because of the way the music is being presented.

The Land of The DeadOdyssey Part 1

The episode “The Land of the Dead” is about how Odysseus goes to see a dead blind man named Teiresias. He went to see him because he wanted to know his future. The song Thriller fits this episode because they are both about dead people and portray the same mood. In the episode it tells us that there are “brides,Young men, tender girls and old men” on this land called The Land of the Dead. It portrays a creepy and mysterious mood. Thriller uses a bunch of different lines to portray the same mood for example “Night creatures call, and the dead start to walk in their masquerade.” The episode says “Then i addressed the blurred and breathless dead, vowing to slaughter my best heifer for them.” This shows fear, which is also another mood the song Thriller has when it says “Creatures crawl in search of blood, To terrorize y’alls neighborhood

The song “Changes” by Tupac accurately describes the feellngs and decisions of the men during the episode. The men were famished and were hungry but they ate the cattle (“One less hungary mouth on the welfare”) theyknow they should not but decide to anyway (“Is life worth living, should i blast myself?”). The cattle are still alive in their stomachs. They are now cursed because they ate Apollos immortal cattle and they must suffer the consequences on the way home(“I never get to lay back,Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs Some buck that I roughed up way backComin' back after all these years”).

The song “Castle of glass” portrays the scene in the Sirens episode of the Odyssey. It relates to this scene because it is talking about the Sirens in the song. The song says, “Fly me up on a silver wing, past the back where the sirens sing.” this is what happened in this episode, they wanted to go past the singing sirens safely because the Sirens would have pulled them in. Throughout the song, it is talking about things that the sirens make you do, and the things that the Sirens are doing like dreaming. In the song, it said “Bring me home in a blinding dream,” you wouldn’t get out of the Sirens safely
