Adverbs of time

Words such as that tell when it is happening: afterwards, always, immediately, now, soon, yesterday, then, before.

Examples:

The man fell yesterday.

I went before.

She saw the criminal now.

Words that tell where something is happening: above, below, upstairs, underneath, there, here

What do adverbs modify (3 things) ?
