The CDC asked recent Macalester grads
for their advice for rising seniors.
Here’s what they said.
“TREAT EVERY WEEK LIKE IT’S
SHARK WEEK.”
“1) Study abroad. 2) Just go ahead & apply to things. 3) Go to the cheese shop.”
“Do not procrastinate on capstones.”
“Talk to your professors outside of class.”
“Get a life off-campus. It is equally important to balance the real world with the Macalester bubble.”
“Don’t even try !to do homework !on Sundays. !Go somewhere new and do something wild.”!
“Surround yourself with people who will pull you forward.”
“Talk to strangers; it’s networking practice, social circle building and fun.”
“Put time into the preparation because that is the difference between success and failure.”
“College is not only about your gpa, but about the skills you build and the experiences you have.”
“Have a plan, but do not stick to it so strongly that you miss opportunities life will put in your path.”
