1. Go to nse.unl.edu

Page 3: Advising Inventory

Do not click on “Freshmen”, just scroll over it and the drop-down will open.

2. Scroll over the tab that says “Freshmen” and when the drop-down opens, click on “Advising Inventory”

Make sure you read through the paragraph at the top of the page because it contains very useful information about the Undergraduate Bulletin.

3. Once this page opens, click on the link that says “College of Business Administration Advising Form”

Please print out and complete the Advising Inventory PRIOR to coming to New Student Enrollment, it is REQUIRED of all NSE students. You need only to print the first 8 pages.

4. The PDF that downloads is the Advising Inventory.

5. Please fill out all information regarding AP, IB, or dual enrollment credit.

This section is important because it helps our advisers understand what you want to accomplish during your time here at the University of Nebraska, this allows them to guide you towards the best path for achieving your goals.

6. Please fill out the “Goal Setting” section.

Page 8: Advising Inventory

This section helps our advisers understand your personal schedule and personal attributes, which will allow our advisors to best guide you in setting up your class schedule for the fall.

7. Please fill out the “Help Us Get to Know You Better” section

Page 9: Advising Inventory

This information is very important for you to know, and it will help you to better understand which classes you will need to enroll in.

8. Please CAREFULLY read the “Preparation for discussing Course selection with your advisor” section, as well as the “Prior to your NSE day” section.

This is especially important if you are in the University Honors program, Jeffery S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management, or other programs that have different course requirements.

9. Please also carefully read the “Notes of Importance”

Please see pages 9-50 for descriptions of the courses offered. These ratings won’t force you to enroll in any specific courses, they simply help you understand what each course offers and allow you to decide which courses seem the most appropriate for you to take.

10. You will now rank your choices for ACE requirement courses.

Once you have completed the Advising Inventory make sure you print pages 1-8 and bring it with you to New Student Enrollment.

This completed document will reduce your wait time to see an adviser, and it will help the advisers assist you in selecting the best courses to enroll in.

The Advising Inventory is mandatory for all NSE students.
