2.2 Impact of the AMANDLA Fair Play Sytsem

The AMANDLA Fair Play System was developed by EduFootball to directly incorporate its educational objectives into the football leagues, but especially in response to high levels of violent conduct within football leagues. It further aims to emphasize on a developmental and educational aspect of football rather than competition. Since its introduction a significant improvement in the youth behavioural patterns could be measured, making the system EduFootball’s most effective educational component up to date. With the system being implemented in all football leagues EduFootball recorded no violent incident in 2010.

2.3 Youth Leadership Programme Report

The main objective of EduFootball’s Youth Leadership Programme is to equip young people with leadership and facilitation skills in order to create positive role models and leaders for other youth and in their communities. In partnership with its coaches and local partner organisations (40 Childcare Facilities) EduFootball identifies young people who show exceptional leadership potential. Every two years 15 girls and boys are selected to go through a four year training phase. Throughout the four years the young leaders receive a certified coaching license, career guidance, internship opportunities with companies from various sectors as well as mentoring of their academic career.
