District!has!used!surface!geophysical!techniques! (e.g.,! seismic! reflec1on,!1me! domain! electromagne1cs,!borehole! geophysics)! to! refine! and!update! the! understanding! of! the!hydrogeological! sehng! of! several!groundwater! basins! in! Ventura!County.! ! The! District! has! recently!employed! high/resolu1on! seismic!reflec1on! techniques! to! explore! the!subsurface! on! the! south/central!Oxnard! Plain! and! has! ini1ated! an!e x t e n s i v e ! 1 m e ! d o m a i n!electromagne1c! (TDEM)! survey!program.! ! The! TDEM! domain!program! was! used! to! evaluate! the!areal! extent! of! sea! water! intrusion!on! the! South! Oxnard! Plain! and!provide! addi1onal! informa1on! on!subsurface! condi1ons! that! may!impact! groundwater! movement!within! the! Oxnard! Plain! Forebay!basin.!!Ongoing!TDEM!surveys!target!the! more! complicated! geology!associated! with! the! Santa! Paula/Mound/Forebay! basin! boundary!area,!as!well! as! the!Forebay/Oxnard!Plain! and! CHG)! holds!graduate! and! undergraduate!degrees! in! Geology! from! Indiana!University!and!has!been!with!UWCD!since! 2009;! prior! to! that! he! was!Western! Region!Manager! for! Layne!Geosciences.! During! his! career! he!h a s! d i r e c t e d! w a t e r � s u p p l y!development! programs! including!groundwater! explora1on,! surface!and! borehole! geophysical! survey!p r o j e c t s , ! w e l l ! d e s i g n! a n d!rehabilita1on! tasks,! as! well! as!Aquifer!Storage!and!Recovery!facility!s i1ng! studies! for! munic ipa l ,!industrial,! and! agricultural! interests!throughout! the! western! U.S.! ! The!UWCD! Groundwater! Department! is!r e s p o n s i b l e! f o r! p r o v i d i n g!hydrogeological! exper1se! to! assist!t h e!
