AERIAL PLATFORMS

The Height of Performance

LTC™ aerials, formerly known as LTI, have over four decades of proven durability and

performance in the toughest operational environments. More than 5,000 of these aerials

have been built since they were first introduced in the late 1960s. In fact, Ladder Tower

Co. and Smeal Fire Apparatus Co., our parent company, have more combined experience

engineering, building, testing and supporting aerials than anyone in the industry.

Our family of aerial platforms includes a 100-foot (30 m) rear mount, and 75-foot,

93-foot and 100-foot (23, 28, 30 m) mid mount models. Each is available in a quint or

truck configuration, and offers a compact design with high performance and payload

characteristics. All operate at full capacity throughout the entire range of motion and at all

angles.

29 square feet (2.7 m2) of working space is standard on every LTC platform basket with

angled, self closing entry doors and plenty of room to accommodate four firefighters.

The entire platform floor is a single, self-draining, non-slip surface for added “sure step”

assurance. This configuration combines generous working space with the nimbleness to

sweep and access almost any building exposure.

No two departments are the same. LTC takes a customized approach to aerial

platform construction giving departments the flexibility to specify a platform as

unique as their individual needs.

45 years and 5,000 apparatus later, LTC remains a leader in reliable operation, no matter the conditions.

Up to 1,000 lbs. (454 kg) of basket capacity

Spring-loaded, swing-in doors at each front corner provide fast entry and exit from the basket, with an automatic-close feature for added safety

Easy access to the basket from the ladder, and from the front step area

Spring-loaded entry gate from the ladder to the basket closes automatically and can’t be opened if pushed against from inside the basket. A pin-type lock is standard for added safety.

Stainless steel heat shields

Well-lit basket interior provides good visibility during nighttime operations

Two storage compartments at the interior rear corners provide weather-protected equipment storage for axes, up to 100 feet of 1 ¾” hose, SCBA facepieces or other items.

Steel lifting eyes are attached directly to the support structure for a combined 1,000 lb. (454 kg) capacity to make rope rescues safer and simpler

Lifting arms, rescue ladder brackets and rescue stretcher holders are standard

Single or dual monitors available

THE DETAILS – PLATFORM BASKET DESIGN

Choose from a selection of custom fire chassis with industry-leading features, including Smeal S600, Smeal Sirius, and Spartan Gladiator chassis.

Value in Every Inch.Roomy platforms and rock solid technology put safety front and center

and performance above everything.

A few features define the LTC 100-foot rear mount platform. Excellent vertical and horizontal reach

allow you to access deeper setbacks and taller buildings. First-rate vertical range of elevation

gives you the access you need for rescue, firefighting and ventilation operations.

High hand rails and wide steps accommodate two-way traffic to shuttle crew and rescue

equipment. And, a spacious platform provides the working room you need to be effective.

Simplicity of hydraulic and electrical systems provides smooth platform mobility, a solid feel to

the basket and the reliability that comes with systems that are well tested and proven in the field,

over and over, every day, every night, every time.

Just as important as the basket is the underlying structure that supports it. For that reason, LTC

aerial platforms feature a low-profile, welded steel torque box mainframe. This design stiffens

“the backbone” to provide a strong, rigid base that absorbs and distributes torsional and horizontal

loads to the outriggers, providing a more stable base for aerial operations throughout the entire

range of motion. That means less stress to the frame rails and body too.

100’ REAR MOUNT

The platform can be elevated from 6° below horizontal to 80° above.

Fast on-scene setup thanks to the pinless stabilizer design with self-leveling ground pads.

Full operational capability on slopes up to 10.5 degrees (18% grade) mean you can position almost anywhere and operate reliably.

Side hosebed locations make layout easy and repacking from the rear of the truck fast and simple, with access from the top while the platform remains cradled. Holds up to 1,000’ (305 m) of 5” LDH.

25” (64 cm) deep rescue-style compartments provide generous space for equipment

A clear walkway makes the climb easier and safer. All wires and hydraulic lines are integrated between the handrail areas.

Rotational Limiting Safety System prevents rotation on the short-jacked side

Environmentally sealed components reduce corrosion

Outrigger foot plate swivels in all directions, conforming to and holding on uneven terrain

100’ (30 m) vertical reach

91’ (28 m) horizontal reach

Tip load rating:

1,000 lbs. (454 kg) dry; 750 lbs. (340 kg) while flowing 1,000 gpm (4000 L/m), 500 lbs. (227 kg) flowing 1,500 gpm (6000 L/m) or 2,000 gpm (8000 L/m)

2,000 gpm (8000 L/m) flow capacity

Stabilizer spread: 18’ (5.5 m) with 13’ (4 m) short jacking capability

Four (4) H-type, out-and-down style stabilizers with short-jacking capability and rotational limiting safety system

All steel construction, each section is trussed diagonally, vertically and horizontally, using steel rectangular tubing and K-bracing for torsional rigidity

Solid-state electrical system with advanced controls

Available on wheelbases as short as 238” (6 m)

11’9” to 12’1” (3.6 – 3.7 m) overall height

THE BENEFITS THE DETAILS

MODEL: 100-RMP (30 M)

Low ground ladder storage provides easy access

An Advantage at Every Angle. When you need the advantages of a maneuverable, compact mid mount,

there’s no better choice than an LTC.

A highly capable platform with an extra-low travel height of 10’2” (3 m), allows easy access

through low fire station doors, overpasses, and bridges. It has a short length of less than

46’ (14 m) so you can perfectly position in the middle of the action, and let your other rigs

pull in around.

The payload capacity will strike you as major, at 1,000 lbs. dry and 500 lbs. at full extension

while flowing 2,000 gpm. Narrow short jacking capability at 13’. Together they make this

one of the most maneuverable mid mount platforms with an ability to get you there and

get you set up with close-in platform access. It’s ideal for aerial rescue and firefighting

in urban areas with narrow streets, alleys and access areas.

A lower center of gravity provides a smooth ride and handling

No front overhang eliminates any infringement on visibility from the cab

Several oversize compartments for storage of large equipment such as smoke fans, rescue tools, etc.

The platform can be elevated vertically 6° below horizontal to 80° above.

Clean, unobstructed view for the driver and officer

Short platform overhang, short wheelbase for superior maneuverability

Maximized ground ladder storage and compartmentation

Multiple control mounting locations provide 360° views of the scene

93’ / 100’ (28 / 30 m) vertical reach

86’5” / 91’ (26.3 / 28 m) horizontal reach

Stabilizer spread: 18’ (5.5 m) with 13’ (4 m) short jacking capability

Full quint configuration available

Tip load rating:

1,000 lbs. (454 kg) dry; 750 lbs. (340 kg) flowing 1,000 gpm (4000 L/m); 500 lbs. (227 kg) flowing 1,500 gpm (6000 L/m) and 500 lbs. (227 kg) flowing 2,000 gpm (8000 L/m)

2,000 gpm (8,000 L/m) flow capacity
