Course
Course Description This course is designed to meet the training requirements for operations during high-altitude/high-speed flight and introduces some basic aerodynamic principles and safety during high-altitude/high-speed flight. High Altitude Aviation Physiology: This module examines how environmental and health factors can affect a pilot’s performance, as well as the specific effects of various conditions on vision and consciousness. Finally, it provides information on the purpose of altitude chamber training (Hypoxia) and related precautions.High Altitude Weather: This module introduces pilots to specific weather related challenges like jetstreams, mountain waves, volcanic ash, and ozone contamination that they might face during a high altitude flight. Pilots flying at high-altitude should be aware of these challenges before planning a flight. Course Outline
The Low Visibility Operations Training can be used for initial pilot training,
familiarization training and recurrent / refresher training, but also for other
aircraft or airport personnel involved in low visibility operations.
The course covers all aspects of the ICAO recommendations for low visibility
training as stated in EASA reg. Part SPA, FAA - AC120-28D and follows the
guidelines of CS-AWO ICAO Doc 9365 Manual of All-Weather Operations and ANAC - IAC3208 - ANAC - IS91-003A
Low Visibility Operations
The course addresses three primary areas:
• Increased awareness during operation under low visibility
• Prevention of incidents and accidents
• Recognition of the role of air traffi c control (ATC) and ground operations
during low visibility operations
The training gives information on a wide range of subjects including general
operating procedures, airborne equipment, airport equipment and lighting, ATC
procedures, and the impact of reduced visibility due to fog, rain and snow.
Course
Course Content The Low Visibility Operations Training contains the following modules:
• INTRODUCTION TO LOW VISIBILITY OPERATION
• AIRPLANE AND FLIGHT CREW
• ATC
• AERODOME - RUNWAY LIGHTS - RVR• VISUAL ASPECTS
• OPERATIONS CAT II & CAT III - LVTO (Low Visibility Takeoff)

The Minimum Equipment List (MEL) is an operational document that crew members and ground personnel must consult prior to flight to determine whether or not inoperative equipment affects the airworthiness of the aircraft and the operational regulations for the intended flight.
The training educates participants on the use and correct interpretation of the MEL and thereby fulfills the legal requirement AMC1 ORO.GEN.110(e) Operator responsibilities. According EASA requirements (Annex III - Part-ORO) the operator is responsible to train its crew members as well as ground personnel dealing with the MEL on the use and interpretation of the MEL.
The MEL training will be completed through a test at the end of the course.
