The 40E Skydragon’s advanced propulsion system provides operators with ‘vectored thrust’ capability for advanced maneuverability and control, vastly simplifying landing and lessening ground crew requirements. The Skydragon’s electronic engine control (EEC) optimizes engine performance for maximum efficiency, reducing fuel consump-tion to 8 gal/hr at cruising speed.
flexible pAyloAd & pAssenger integrAtion
The 40E Skydragon is flexible and accommodating, integrating diverse ISR payloads and support personnel, while permitting equipment attachment to the gondola, enve-lope exterior, or within the envelope. NADATS integration includes complete command and control solutions for signal integration, downlink, and data analysis. The Skydragon can track targets to 70 km land and 150 km sea as well as obtain, analyze and feed real time high resolution optical, infrared, or communications data to other air, ground, and sea assets. Lengthened cabin has capacity for command station, and improves crew comfort and visibility.

glAss CoCkpit
The 40E Skydragon’s advanced avionics suite builds on existing NADATS’ fly-by-wire technology to provide the pilot a modern glass cockpit with opti-mized informational dis-plays and ergonomics.
fUel optiMizAtion
Automated fuel injection optimizes engine perfor-mance; 40E consumes only ~8 gal/hr when cruising.

MilitAry Mission sUpport: (air superiority established)• Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR)
» Air & Surface Wide Area Monitoring: Multi-mode radar with Air-to-Air MTI/GMTI; 360° target tracking up to 150km LOS at altitude ceiling, observe over70,000 square kilometers at a time.
» High Definition Multi-Spectral Imaging:Gyro stabilized 1080P HD-SDI EO/IR capabilities.
» Communications & Electronics:Relays, jammers, decoys, others
• Airborne Early Warning (AEW): Line of sight sensor range extension for large aperture antennas and other payloads.
• Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW): Towed submerged sonar arrays; rapid relocation between slow-speed listening positions.
• Mine Countermeasures (MCM): Time, visibility, and asset vulnerability advantages as UUV compli-ment.
• Ground Radar Calibration (GRC):Cost-effective initial and repeat calibration asset, freeing other aircraft for operations.
pArA-MilitAry Mission sUpport: • Customs/Border:
Improved line of sight visibility in urban/rural areas for cost effective monitoring and over-border observation.
• Coast Guard:Increase visual and sensor search ranges of surface vessels with air support, reduce standing patrols, and improve situational aware-ness of the air and ground enviornment.
• Port Security:On-shore and off-shore monitoring for anti-terrorism, smuggling interdiction, and loss prevention. Long range detection and armed force response coordination.
• Search & Rescue:Airships provide good visibility, long on-scene endurance, low alti-tude capability, appropriate search speeds, and rescue by winch or inflatable deployment.
• Intelligence:Signals intelligence (SIGINT) and traffic analysis (COMINT & ELINT); ECCM.
• Infrastructure Monitoring:Cost-effective patrol of high value facilities, pipelines, and potential targets.
• Territorial / Sovereignty Enforcement:Cost-effective support of standing patrols over coastal and off-shore waters for longer periods; documentation.
