The Supply Chain in Thales Alenia Space is evolving in
order to meet the expectations of a space market more and
more mature for both commercial and institutional
applications. Creation of strategic sourcing and solid
partnerships with innovative suppliers as well as a reliable
vendor’s network are key factors to meet market
expectations and costs optimization. The presentation
mainly focuses on the key steps to become a TAS supplier.
A quick view of the main ongoing projects depicting the role
of TAS Supply Chain will be provided during the conference.
09:55 10:50 Outlook of the Turkish Aerospace Industry Aerospace Room
Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI), Halil Attila,Chief/Subcontracting, Trainer and Special MissionAircraft Director
TAI is Turkey's center of technology in design,
development, modernization, manufacturing, integration and
life cycle support of integrated aerospace systems, from
fixed and rotary wing air platforms to UAVs and satellites.
Within the scope of more than 170 different Projects, TAI
makes its business starting with conceptual design thru
final delivery of enditems to its customers, including
potential solution alternatives and cost to support variable
budgets for developing Indigenous platforms in Turkey.TAI
continuously searches around the world for dependable
subcontractors/suppliers with niche technologies to be
utilized in its projects for the Aerospace platforms.
Therefore, the Supply chain management becomes an
important role player because it leads the role of outsourcing
systems and major airborne equipment needed for these
projects.

11:40 12:10 Strategies for the development of additivemanufacturing at Politecnico di Torino
AIDAA Room
Politecnico di Torino, Paolo Fino, Professor
Nowadays additive manufacturing is one of the fundamental
topics of the so called Industry 4.0 allowing production
outsourcing for the globalized market. Politecnico di Torino
and IIT@Polito exhibit a strong experience in the additive
manufacturing field thanks to the first partnerships started in
2005 with big international aerospace enterprises settled in
Piemonte region.

12:15 12:45 The Italian and European associative
experience in Additive Manufacturing: AITA &CECIMO
AIDAA Room
UCIMUSISTEMI PER PRODURRE , EnricoAnnacondia, Technical Direction CECIMO, Giorgio Magistrelli, Additive ManufacturingProject Manager
Founded in 2014 as a spinoff of UCIMUSISTEMI PER
PRODURRE (Association of Italian Manufacturers of
Machine Tools, Robots, Automation Systems and ancillary
products), AITAASSOCIAZIONE ITALIANA
TECNOLOGIE ADDITIVE represents around 100
stakeholders working in the field of Additive Manufacturing,
in order to underline the link between the Italian
Manufacturing sector and these technologies. CECIMO is
the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries,
we bring together 15 national associations of machine tool
builders, which represent approximately 1500 industrial
enterprises in Europe, over 80% of which are SMEs.
CECIMO defends the common interests of its members,
particularly in relation to authorities and associations, and
promotes the European machine tool industries and their
development in the fields of economy, technology and
science.

Manufacturing.
14:35 15:05 Electromechanical Rotary Actuator for HybridFlight Control Systems (HFCS)
Aerospace Room
MAG Mecaer Aviation Group, Viviana Bruno,Project Engineering
Download the presentation (/index.php/mecaer)
The Fly By Wire (FBW) flight control mode as of today is
uneasy for being used on small aircraft like basic trainers
and Very Light Jets (VLJ), due to its intrinsic complex and
expensive architecture. Mecaer is developing a concept
solution that shall make FBW more compatible for said
applications. The initial step requires the development of
basic components like a suitable electromechanical
actuator. In this aim the development of a rotary
electromechanical actuator has been completed in the frame
of the POR FESR program funded by Regione Piemonte.
15:45 16:50 Strategic Debate: The future of R&D, industryand innovation in the italian aerospace

16:55 17:25 Materials development produced by SelectiveLaser Melting for aerospace applications
AIDAA Room
Politecnico di Torino, Elisa Ambrosio, DiegoManfredi, IIT, Researchers
Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process and technology as a
technique creating parts by scanning powdered materials
with a laser beam so as to melt and fuse the material into a
solid, the parts being manufactured layer by layer direct
from the CAD file data. This approach permits to extend the
freedom of design and manufacture by allowing, for
example, to create an object with desired shape and internal
structure in a single fabrication step.

09:20 09:50 Product Lifecycle Management opportunityfor enabling Engineering collaboration
AIDAA Room
PLM systems, Roberto Cavarero, Practice Manager Area ETO (Engineering to Order)
It is widely accepted that PLM represents a competitive
edge for manufacturing enterprises. Timetomarket
reduction and increased reactivity to market's demand are
PLM most known fallouts. A local project on aerospace and
defense sector demonstrates a substantial interest on
Export Control issues and CAT management regarding PLM
opportunities. Authors deal with the problem analyzing
reasons and solutions, thus highlighting and clarifying PLM
advantages in the enterprise context. The first step towards
the development of such solution is the enterprise model
proposed in the paper.

09:55 10:25 New methods and tools to design optimalstructures for additive manufacturing
Aerospace Room
Altair Engineering srl, Giulio Turinetti, Hyper WorksAerospace Application Engineer
Download the presentation (/index.php/altair)
The rapid progress in additive manufacturing (AM)
technologies enlarge very significantly the range of possible
applications. But this enforces also the need to have a
suitable engineering process to design efficient products
specifically for AM. The topology optimization technologies
are particularly well suited as they help design the optimal
and lightest structural shapes, leveraging the full potential of
AM. This presentation will explain the engineering process
and showcase some industrial applications.
09:55 10:25 3D Simulation and Multidisciplinary DesignSpace Exploration in Aerospace and Defense
AIDAA Room
CDadapco, Anthony Massobrio & Carlo Pettinelli,Sales Managers
3D engineering simulation is becoming more than just an
advantage it is a necessity. No longer confined to
"analysis" at the later stage of the development process,
thermal/flow/stress 3D simulation can and should be applied
as a tool from the very beginning of the design process.

How to generate a saving in the machining process,
extending the coolants and the tools life. To achieve the
finishing, required by the modern Aircraft industry, the
combination between: Tools, Coolant and the feeding
system is mandatory. Different coolant types and the feed
