This comprehensive treatise deals with all aspects of jaw lesions, including congenital and developmental disturbances, inflammatory lesions, tumors, cysts, systemic diseases, and miscellaneous conditions. Also included is a chapter on tem- poromandibular joint disorders. Each condition is defined, and the clinical and radiologic aspects and the diagnosis and treatment are discussed. The numerous colored clinical pho- tographs, excellent radiographs, and selected photomino- graphs add to the value of the material presented.

The authors of this book take a unique approach to the subject of rhinoplasty, emphasizing that the proper operation involves more than pure geometry, but rather has to consider the personality of the face. This material is then used as a basis for selection of operative procedures, which are thoroughly described. The book ends with a discussion of secondary rhinoplasty and case studies of difficult management prob- lems.

This volume brings together the thoughts and experiences of a multidisciplanary group of authors on all aspects of cleft lip and palate management. The management of related orthognathic, nasal, lip, and craniofacial deformities also is covered. Other chapters deal with the use of otthotics and obturation problems in- volving velopharyngeal incompetence, the effect of cleft lip and palate on speech and breathing, and esthetic consider- ations.

Chapters dealing with the dental implications of sex- ually transmitted diseases, geographic and tropical orofacial infections, and epidemiology also are included.

The majority of the book is devoted to treatment chapters and all areas of the craniofacial skeleton are discussed. Numerous illustrations accompany the detailed text.

Photographs of the actual skull and disarticulated bones rather than drawings are used to illustrate this atlas. The pic- tures are large, clear, and labeled with letters and numbers to avoid overcrowding. The legends, which are on the op- posing page, have the information grouped by name of bone, foramina, and landmarks. Separate illustrations are used to show muscle attachments, and anthropological and radio- graphic landmarks.
