appeared before the Board to request help in locating football fields for next

use their sports complex on saturdays. supervisors Benefield and Martin will
help in securing fields and amenities at the Harrison County 9th Grade School.

for the state prisoners. The Board needs to ratify any inmate training
program.
cl Supervisor Rockco recognized the efforts of the Fire Coordinator in
decreasing fire rating for the Success community.
dl Mayor Bass requested any assistance the Board could provide with
demolition of buy-out properties in Long Beach.
el Need to request assistance from Corps of Engineers to look at
TurKey CreeK overflow.
fl Eddie Bigelow invited the Board to attend the project Impact

WHEREAS, Harrison County, Mississippi is in the land acquisition phase of the Bayou
Portage Bridge Replacement project, a state-aid project to replace Bayou Portage Bridge, and the
Board of Supervisors ("Governing Authority") have been advised that acquisition needs to be
completed within strict deadlines in order to receive state funding; and
WHEREAS, Parcel No. I0 owned by Marie C, Steube and Karen Ann Steube is particularly
described on a revised drawing prepared by Gamer Russell & Associates, Inc., Consulting
Engineers, attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; artd
WHEREAS, said revised parcel has been reappraised at the instance of Harrison County
by Everette B. Ladner, Real Estate Appraiser, and said new appraisal has been reviewed and
confirmed by Sidney L. Cullifer, Jr., Real Estate Appraiser, and reasonable compensation for said
parcel has been detennined on the basis of the fair rnarket value of the land and improvements
• established by said appraisal, as follows:

WHEREAS, an offer has been made by Deborah A. Thompson, P, A., Attorneys, in behalf
of Harrison County to the property owner for said parcel identified above on the basis ofthe values
established by the new appraisal rep0l1, artd said owner having rejected said offer, the Board of
Supervisors of Harrison County finds that it is necessary to the project, and in the best interest of
HaITison County that authorization be given to the said attorneys for the County to proceed by
eminent domain to acquire said easements on the basis of the statement of values established by said
appraisal; and
WHEREAS, the Board further finds that due to funding deadlines, Harrison County shall
suffer irreparable harm and delay by exercising the right to condemn the property through eminent
domain proceedings pursuant to Sections 11-27-1-through 11-27.49, Misslssippi Code of 1972, as
opposed to claiming the right of immediate title and possession of said property pursuant to Sections

• WHEREAS, Mike Peters has heretofore petitioned the Harrison
county Board of Supervisors (hereafter "the Board") to provide
access to property he claims is "landlocked"; and
WHEREAS, Glen Gerald Ishee and Suzanne Ishee, through their
IItorney of record, contend that the Harrison County Board of
~upervisors should commission two (2) of its members to examine
and view the contemplated route of a roadway to provide access to
the property owned by Mike Peters; and

WHEREAS, Marie P. Doyle became Deputy Clerk for the Harrison
County Tax Assessor's Office, Second Judicial District, on
November 1, 1970 and has served in this capacity up through the
present date, where she is in charge of the Homestead Section;
WHEREAS, during her many years of service to Harrison County
and its Citizens, Marie has exemplified qualities of leadership,
integrity and character as she discharged her duties and
WHEREAS, upon Marie's retirement,
responsibilities in this position; and• it is fitting and proper
for the Harrison County Board of Supervisors to commend Marie for
her many years service.
